Your lunchtime?

As I work 12-8 my lunch is 4pm which is always sandwiches, crisps and a chocolate bar of some kind.

I usually have a bacon sandwich before I go to work about 11.15 which keeps me going, if not then I snack on something during my break at 2pm.

My lunch is anytime between 12:00 and 15:00....normally around 1:30/2:00

Lunch varys from Sandwhiches to left overs of a meal to stir frys to Pasta bakes and soups...Among other things :p

didn't realise the French etc have big lunches, but naturally the Spanish do due to Ciesta or however its spelt

I feel tired after eating a fair amount yes, so I see your point, but its upo the Employer if they see the staffs work load getting smaller in the afternoons, then they need a kick up the backside

I usually have my lunch just over halfway though my working day (subconcious thing of the afternoon being shorter). Something smaller for lunch and my main meal in the evening when I get home. I commute to work so going home for a meal is not an option at lunchtime. I can have up to a maximum of 1 hour for lunch so going out for a meal is not possible. Getting out of the office, ordering the meal, eating it at a normal pace, relaxing a while before getting back to the office...... can't be done in 1 hour.

I think part of the reason for people being sleepy in the afternoon after a larger lunch is down to not taking time over and after eating your lunch (eating the wrong sort of thing doesn't help either). Having a 'drink' at lunchtime is a no no, against company policy.

I graze throughout the day. I don't really have a lunch "break" - though I can take a break if I wanted to - i do, but not an hour long one. I have 3 lunch breaks and just have my numerous meals a day whenever I feel hungry.

When I used to work in France I always allocated myself a good 1.5-2hrs for lunch! :D I miss those days :(

my lunch is anytime between 9am and 1pm, depends on were i can stop and time between deliveries/collections.

it usually consists of a couple of buttys and a bag of crisp.

Same, eat a huge amount throughout the day.

I tend to have lunch around 12.30 for about 30 mins. Nothing big, a sandwich or a roll (both home made) and a cup of tea.

I don't do breakfast, and have a normal average evening meal when I get home around 6 PM.

I've always done that, and I cannot understand those who have a huge breakfast, graze all day, sizeable lunch, then go home for a mahoosive evening meal.

Depends if you need it or not ;)

At work (school) lunchtime is 11:40-12:50, so have about 20 mins at some point in that time. Depends how hungry I am and if I've got other things to be doing! Try to wait till about 12:30 because I'm usually hungry by 4:30 if I eat at the start of lunchtime!

Tend to really vary how much I eat. Sometimes I can be bothered to make a sandwich to take, sometimes I buy a sandwich, take a carton of soup, leftovers from the night before, school dinner if I can't be bothered to make anything - sometimes just some fruit and a yoghurt.

Only thing I know is it's bound to be washed down with copious numbers of cups of Yorkshire tea during the day :)

Can also pretty much always guarantee someone will have brought some chocolates/cake/similar (we're a big school so have birthdays almost every week) - today we had mini cookies, shortcake biscuits, caramel shortbreads and flapjacks to nibble on. Tough to be on a diet when you work in a primary school!

In Brazil most people have lunch between 11am and 2pm and almost always it's outside the office and a full meal, if it's Feijoada then you can kiss the rest of the day goodbye as a long sleep is usually called for, in fact I don't recall seeing single person eating at their desk and it being a sandwich...

Lunch for me is usually a full meal or take away at around 1pm, but, on occasion has been as late as 2pm, as other has said it does depend on what time I start work, but before midday is impossible.

Had this little beauty at 12:30pm today:

Smoked mackrel with charlotte potatoes and onion roasted in basil, marjoram, cardamom pods and cayenne pepper. Only had a small portion though as I'm dropping weight...

:o FOOD PORN! Although I get crucified at work if I bring in "smelly" fish, really hacks me off, because I don't go around complaining about the stink of pickled onion crisps and nasty pasties..

Usually have lunch at 12, although if busy sometimes go at 1pm. At the moment we are saving a few £'s and making Sandwiches (cottage cheese, chicken, tomato, onion, lettuce + anything that strikes our fancy on the day) for our lunchtimes.

We have a pretty sweet production line going, my mate cuts the onion and tomato, I put the stuff on the sandwiches and my boss cuts them, then....profit.

I can have lunch anywhere between 12 and 1.30. Usually just a sandwich, bag of crisps and a bottle of water. I sit at my desk so I can game over lunch :D Currently working my way through King's Bounty, one of the perks of working for my dad, I can use the work pc for gaming at lunch.
