Got this on way home from work today. (notts to sheffield) Driving abit grandad like but i wasn't in a hurry (plus low on fuel:p)

Isn't this from a 172? Pretty good;)

Saxo VTR, purely urban driving with a bit of lead foot action.

38mpg.

should i even bother to post?:p

it's been covered and proven before that mpg figures in cars are inaccurate to the extent they cannot be believed by a motors section on OcUK

 They are simply as accurate as the measurement. Topping up the tank and measuring miles and the amount to fill the tank again should give figures as accurate as required.

Why do you think they are so inaccurate?

He's got the hump becuase he is the guy who claimed to get 70mpg from an Escort diesel and nobody would believe him.

Cars a Focus ST3, does 27-33 on a run, 22-24 round town, depends how frisky im feeling:P

And to the fella above who said he got 8mpg on a 2.2 astra, is that even possible unless its knackered or tuned to buggery?

Audi URquattro - 19.4avg at the moment, thats a combination of both boot down round the country roads and a bit of conservitive driving too and from work.
