It really depends on where I am going. Most of the time I will go out without a bag at all, I'll just have the camera on a sling strap with the lens I've picked for the day. If it's the 70-200 I'll probably stick a prime in a pocket as well.

Four days in the Alps, with purely my camera, 70-200, 24-105 which I didn't really use, couple of memory cards, charger, iPad and card reader for reviewing photos.

When in Mexico for 2 weeks, took a flash and spare batteries too, as unsure about charging potential.

So easy to start taking too much, which I often won't use. Could do with some ND filters for the exposure though.

And the odd bits for cleaning some glass.

I have just left with my camera and a battery once but that was when i was running through city streets and just snapping as many good photos as i can but mainly if i go out with my camera i go out with all my kit and am out for at least 6-7 hours . :)

Yeah thats something i am unfortunately great at is taking too much :)

Apart form obvious things like a cmaera + lens the must have for me are:
1) Circular polariser
2) Tripod
3) lightroom

I could give up lightroom but things would get very tiring in PP. I could never give up a tripod or CPL, even things like memory cards I could give up and just to tethered shooting, or even give up digital and go to film (nice MedFor body) - no tripod and no CPL and its game over for me.

I suppose it massively depends what you're trying to shoot. My difficulty is if I'm going away for a couple of weeks to somewhere remote and I can easily fall into that "just in case trap" and take loads of gear I won't use.

Sometimes feel like forcing myself to work with a minimum - I think with the right initial selection, you can do most things with very little. Lots of kit doesn't (for me at least) make my photos any better.

Was playing with a EOS 3 the other day beautiful camera it is But i don't know if i could do film again :)

When I'm actually going out? Depends on what I'm shooting but most likely:

Camera + lens for the day

Battery tends to last, although I'm going to get a back up at some point. Memory card also tends to be fine, but again, have got a back up somewhere I think.

I'm really nervous on taking my whole day on one card as i have done that plenty of times and it just so happens the one day i really needed the photos the card screwed up and i lost them all so it double cards all the way one for the first half the second for the second half .

I'm rarely sure what I'm going to be bothered taking photos of, so until recently took 85mm, 35mm and 70-200. Recently though I've just taken 35 & 85 and that's been fine.

So camera, 2 lenses, black rapid strap that is annoying the hell out of me at the moment. I may well sling it in the back of the wardrobe, never to be seen again. I'm currently happier having no strap and using my Lowpro messenger 150 to carry stuff around at more or less the same height.

16gb & 8gb memory card, 2 batteries, battery grip.

Oh, and me :D

Don't get me wrong, I think if I went a long way I'd get a back up, but most of my trips aren't a long way, more of a half hour trip into town.

Aside from the obvious (camera + film):
1) Permanent marker for labelling cannisters
2) An incident light meter
3) A little notebook full of business cards/4x6s of my street photos in the event people get curious about what I'm doing
4) My Ricoh GRDIII as a digi snapshot/backup camera.
