Your oldest piece of hardware?

I have a mouse pad that heals back to its original shape when cut, all the way from 1997.

I also have a PII from the nineties though it wasn't actually mine, it's a compaq.

for me its only my mouse bungi back from when i used to play cs barrysworld leagues ect with sk187 and sbcs

but unused it would be my working zx81 in the loft

I've got a working C64 with 1541 floppy drive that dates back to the late 80's but it ain't in my PC so I guess it doesn't count.

Did you know there was a program for the C64 that let the 1541 floppy drive play tunes with its motors... But it was very bad for the floppy drive :P. My spectrum 48k broke, and by the mid 80's. I had an Amstrad PC1512 with an 8mhz 8086 processor! Bought it pretty much when Amstrad launched it, had the twin floppy version with CGA colour screen. It might be up in the loft, but I have a feeling I gave it away to charity a long time ago.

My Atari TT is possibly the oldest PC I use, and on that, I have a 44MB Syquest M/O thats from my even older ST that still works!

The TT is 1991 and the Syquest is 1989

PC-Wise, would be my old 386 DX40 - Been using as a Firewall for must be over 10 years now on and off.

It's in my parents PC, but my oldest piece of hardware is a AMD 64 3000+ Socket 754 model. It was abused by me for 2 years before I gave it to them, even got up to a reading of 120 degrees C on the mobo when the cooling fan died. Still going strong now though, I reckon its 5+ years old so pretty good considering the abuse it got :)

ive still got my Tiny PC (company) cost me £1000 with PC, monitor, desk, K/M, scanner and printer.

Oldest piece in my current rig is a 160GB IDE hard drive which I bought from a mate for my rig prior to the one before this one. At the moment it has one word document on it and thats it, works fine though. Must be from about 2003.

Until last week, this would have been my CPU heatsink! Original Freezer Pro 64, had it since the year they came out. thats what.... 3 years? 4 years? I don't keep my stuff for long.

Although I do still have a floppy drive lying around. Its currently on the top shelf above my desk.. need to stand on a stool to get to that shelf properly. I've kept it along with its cable just in case I ever need to get data from a floppy. You never know what might happen.

Now though, i've got a USB floppy drive sat under my desk at work, for that kind of thing. I could just take it home to use if i ever needed to.

Voodoo 3 3000 gfx card in one of my loan computers.

On my torrent machine the oldest bit of H/W is a 9600xt which still runs L4D, CS:S, BF2 perfectly well (useful when someone's machine dies at LANs too!)

My case is the oldest part i use on a daily basis - coolermaster 201 which i got in july 2002.

Still a nice case.

My laptop (IBM Thinkpad R31) is coming up on 10 years old. Thinking of replacing him with a netbook as all he does is run Xubuntu for web browsing.

In my main PC, I think my case is about 2 or 3 years old.
Got a Samsung 22" 'pebble' when they first came out which was probably 2 or 3 years ago as well.

Speakers. Creative Intrigue 3400 (I think that's the model). Had it since around 2005 or 2006 I think, still does a decent job and I never really use more than around a third of the settings / volume etc. Even with the base set to the lowest mark it still kicks out loads of oomph! :)

Oldest item thats still in use are a Plextor DVDRW in an external housing.

Not in use is a Voodoo Banshee 6Mb PCI card.
