People aren't reading the post title "Your Premiership Team of the Year" - ie the best performers this season, not who would "compliment so and so".

Van Nistelrooy for example has been mentioned, and Shaun Wright-Phillips - do me a favour, neither are regulars in their respective sides, and Van Nistelrooy is being sold in the summer.

How anyone could look beyond Henry and Rooney up front is pure blindness.

Burke, Terry - Assistant Manager/Goalkeeper
Rowe, Brian – Defender
Taylor, Mark – Defender
Smith, Brian – Defender
Phillips, Wayne – Midfielder
Walton, Kevin – Midfielder
Bone, Chris – Midfielder
Evans, Nicky - Midfielder
Kerr, Lee – Forward
Minto, Mark – Forward

For those who don’t know, WHITLEY BAY FC - *** :D  :p

:D Woo Hooo

van Nistelrooy was a regular for the majority of the season, is the leagues 2nd top scorer, has more than 20 goals. Rooney has about 15 roughly. I opted for Rooney but it isn't as clear cut as you seem to think.

I can understand not including Wright-Phillips as he has only had a handful of games. I would have liked to have Heinze in my team also but he simply hasn't played enough to merit it due to injury.

Reina

Chimbonda Carragher Terry Gallas

Gerrard Alonso Lampard Cole

Rooney Henry

Reina - so solid, still young and a truely great keeper.

Chimbonda - fantastic, I remember watching him in game 1 against chelsea, and he's just got better and better all season.

Carragher - the worlds most underrated defender, simply class never puts a foot wrong.

Terry - see above but not underrated.

Gallas - great athlete and not much has got past him.

Gerrard - can play anywhere and excell (except GK) over 20 goals, simply amazing midfielder, worth Player of the year.

Alonso - not shy of a tackle, skillfull and solid. Range of passing is simply awesome to behold, a real thinker.

Lampard - Not as good a gerrard............ but still very good

Cole - very skillfull and creative, knows where the goal is.

Rooney - Speaks for himself

Henry - as above

Manager - Benitez - progress, keen eye for a transfer (except nando) brought fowler back, and is tactically amzing, best manager in the world right now.

GK = Paul Robinson - Cemented his role as Englands No.1, been awesome all season, keeping many clean sheets and helping Spurs finish 5th in the table

RB = Pascal Chimbonda - He has been outstanding all season for Wigan, scoring a few goals along the way.

LB - William Gallas - he may not enjoy playing there but has been very solid all season.

CB = Jamie Carragher - Unsung hero if the Liverpool side. Been one of the best defenders in the country over the last couple of years.

CB = John Terry - A rock and a fantastic goalscorer too

MR = Aaron Lennon - Some people will call me biased. He has had an outstanding 1st season and at 18/19 years old, he is a considerable talent. I've watched him tear left backs apart all season.

ML = Joe Cole - Whatver Jose said to him, it worked.

MC = Claude Makalele - Does the simple things excellently, breaks up play and a huge assett to have in the middle.

MC = Cesc Fabregas - Another young lad with a huge career ahead of him.

FC = Thiery Henry - Needs no comments.

FC = Robbie Keane - Has had a battle this season, now 1st choice striker and captain in King's absence. Showed tremedous character and determination to win and cement his place.

GK - Jens Lehmann

CB - Wes Brown
CB - John Terry
LB - Gabriel Heinze

CM - Steven Gerrard (c)

Gotta agree that you'd stick N'Zogbia ahead of Joe Cole, same position, but Zoggy has more assists and more goals. If he were english and based in london the press would be creaming themselves.

 I know your a Man Utd fan but Heinze has barely played and Wes Brown?

I just knew Heinze would be brought up ;) I haven't seen anyone this season that I would put ahead of Heinze. Maybe if Ashley Cole had played this season, I would have picked him.

And Wes Brown, slate him all you want, but he has been our best central defender this season when he has played. Better than Ferdinand.

Last season i thourght Heinze should have been in the team of the year, but how can you put him in a team of the YEAR without playing  As for Brown he may well have been Man Utd's best defender but 1 of the 2 top defenders in the league this year?

Lehmann - Arguably been Arsenals best player all season with some top draw performances.

Chimbonda - This was close with Eboue but I think he deserves it, what a revalation!
Terry - Solid, Solid and a bit more Solid
Carragher - Been Great for Liverpool this season and has got them out of poop on more that 1 occasion, a real 100%er who deserves all the plaudits he gets.
Gallas - as said before, he might not like playing here but when he does he does it very very well.

Gerrard - World Class - deserved the Players award and is an Anfield Legend already
Fabregas - I might be a tad biased on this being a Gooner an all, but this kid will be a world beater sooner rather than later! Cesc Magnifique!
Lampard - Another Good season from Lamps - started off on fire with a hatful of goals - did slow down towards the end though - lets hope he regains his brilliance for the world cup!
Cole - Chelseas best player imho - this lads come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years and deservadly so should be one of the first names on the England team sheet.

Rooney - What a player - thank god hes english, Such a pure player - he will be sadly missed if hes not fit for the WC
Henry - Best Premiership Player ever arguable the master has set the league alight once again and really is the real deal and is second in the world to only Ronnie and hes very close behind him at that!

+44

GK - Jens Lehmann - Unfortunately. The best all season, though, credit where credit is due.
RB - Pascal Chimbonda - Been solid all season, shame he's asked for a transfer already.
CB - John Terry - Solid as a rock all season yet again. He'd be my England captain.
CB - Jamie Carragher - Almost as solid as Terry and always getting his foot in.
LB - Matthew Taylor - Been a poor year for left backs, but Taylor has been one of Portsmouths best players all season. Takes a good pen too.
RW - Aaron Lennon - Fast, skilful and in the England squad. Just needs to score more goals.
CM - Steven Gerrard - Up and down, up and down.
CM - Frank Lampard - Midfield goal machine.
LW - Joe Cole - Skilful, tricky and now with an end product.
CF - Wayne Rooney - Just everything, except indestructible feet.
CF - Thierry Henry - One of the classiest players ever, I really hope he is still in the PL next season. Secret Man U deal on the cards? I think so! ;)

Sub GK - Given - Shame about that defensive pairing of Bramble and Boumsong.
Sub CB - Kolo Toure - Done well without Sol and been important for Arsenal.
Sub CM - Cesc Fabregas - Got better and better as the season has gone on. Great player.
Sub CM - Xabi Alonso - Been excellent all season, great range of passing and good vision.
Sub CF - Darren Bent - Top English goal scorer and done well for Charlton this season. Faded towards the end and unlucky not to get a place in the England squad.

GK - Jens 'Mad' Lehmann - Awesome, thats all that needs to be said
RB - Pascal Chimbonda - Played well (Eboue could have been there but he hasn't played enough)
CB - John Terry - Had to be in the team, either as CB or in goal;)
CB - Kolo Toure - Awesome, Love the guy. a lot of players could learn from him just from his effort, he oozes love for the club
LB - William Gallas - Ain't a LB, but has been solid
LM - Gamst-Pedersen - played well, and has added goals which have pushed Blackburn higher than most people expected
CM - Gerrard - Continued from last season
CM - Makawakkaalelelelelele - Makes things tick
RM - Joe Cole, out of position but had to be in the side
CF - Thierry Henry - No comment needed
CF - Wayne Rooney - No comment needed

I have of course seen more Arsenal games than any other so I fully admit to being biased :) Special mentions to Nolan, Lampard, N'Zogbia, Carragher, Given and most importantly Cesc Fabregas, just how good could this lad be? 19 and one of the best CM I've seen Vieira who?

I'm surprised no one mentioned Kevin Davies, he was very close to getting in mine, but opted for Henry instead. He's been incredible this season.

Leads the line well, but only has 7 goals which frankly isn't enough, imo
