Have to go back next week, because the tooth is still infected, and he's put more disinfectant in the tooth and put a temp. filling in.

That's normal. Oddly enough you'll notice your teeth may get whiter over the week. The stuff they used on me I had tasted like a type of bleach (certainally tasted foul!).
Note- not that I have tasted bleach or recommend anyone else does!

Never had one, but I seem to have crazy sensitive nerves around that area compared to other people (apparently) even the simplest filling has me reeling

Can they do this under general anaesthetic?
