hi guys, just wondering, what sound system do you use to power the sound from your pc's?

me personally, i have 2x tall stand mission 753 speakers up front, tannoy mercury bookshelf rears, kef passive down firing sub, powered by a denon 5.1 reciever.
Thats what i use to hear my games through my pc.

I have the kit in my sig.

Pioneer VSX-LX53, Arcam Alpha 8P Power Amp, Monitor Audio RX6 & Centre, BR-FX rear, BK XLS400 DF sub.

But for games I use Senn 555's connected to my Xonar.

At the moment I have a set of old Dell 2.1 speakers, but mostly use Plantronics DSP-500s

Should be arriving today though is my Onkyo 5305 AV-system which will pretty much take over sound for everything, and then maybe get a new set of headphones if I need to listen without being to loud :D

yeah thats the next thing ive got to invest in.
Some headphones, My mrs hates it in the evenings / nights and my littlen is asleep.

Although personally, i will touch no other headphones, only kenwood ones, i owned some kenwoods in the past and they were beast.

This was my setup 3 years ago:

Using some crappy bookshelfs now.

My gaming PC in the dining room uses a Creative Inspire 5300 setup (only 2.1, I seem to have lost a couple of the rear speakers)

In the living room, I've got an Asus Xonar D2 sound card, via analogue into a Yamaha DSP-AX757SE receiver, and then out to 5 speaker system consisted of B&W 602.5 S3 floorstanders, B&W 600 S3 rears and B&W LCR60 S3 centre speaker. No subwoofer (yet).

Have you tried any other headphones? Just because some kenwood ones were great in the past doesnt mean other companies haven't surpassed them in time passed

yeah ive tried other brands since my loved kenwoods got ruined (by my 18 month old son).
But personally, i just dont think they compare.

My kenwoods were just whisper clear wether down low or maxxed out volume.
Other brands i have used, either they distort like a biatch at higher volumes or the wire going into the jack always ends up going iffy.
(i love my music loud, but crystal clear)

Laptop Speakers on my XDX16 (I think they're 2.1 as there's a little sub on the bottom of the unit) and when I want to turn up the tunes I plug my Sony Cordless headphone transmitter in and go for a wander!! :D

I have a set of B&W 603 s1 front floor standers, matching bookshelf rears and matching centre, currently sub-less but the floor standers are pretty bassy, running through a denon avr1911 but gaming I use some Beyerdynamic DT990 headphones and an astro Mixamp :D

For my HTPC, I have a Xonar Essence ST, Audiolab 8000A and Wharfedale 9.1's.

Goldring DR150's, if it's late and I don't want to disturb anyone.

Some DAC, Shanling PH100 headphone amp, Denon D2000, Sennheiser HD 580, or Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. Currently the D2000s get the most use. I'm in the process of hot-rodding a Xiang Sheng 708B valve headphone amp, and will be giving that a go soon.

HTPC/Rotel RCD1070-Yamaha Dspax863se with front preouts to a Nad C270 for stereo channels and then Dynaudio Audience 62/52/42c/Rel Q150e, still blows me away how good it sounds.
