That's a nice euro-mk2 but as far as 5 door mk2's go, this is the nicest;)

just needs smoked indicators and a smaller pulley....

Thing is though, it's trying to be a mk1. You can't blame it though why wouldn't it! Mk1 is soooo cooler than the mk2

I'm not sure about the smaller pulley comment though - do you not reckon its pokey enough? :D

Yep, I remember Rick Walkner's was pretty bloody pokey, but seemed no quicker than a g60 upto about 4k where valver's usually start to pick their arses up, then it really took off. Needed a bit more low end boost!

Silly. Look at how far the sidewalls on those tyres are stretched. If that's Euro-look then Europe has some fairly clueless car modifiers IMO.

The Golf is the only car IMO that can pull the Euro look off well

Balls is it - www.cleaned.be has hundreds of lovely cars. Check out some Opel Kadetts - they respond particularly well to a bit of the old 'euro'.

I have 10" wide wheels...I'll be fitting 225-section rubber. Oh, yes.

10x14 rear, 9x14 front Schmidt TH-lines with 225/45/14 rubber all 'round. Those rears have the perfect amount of stretch to them.

Low, sir?

The rear wheels on that passat look utterly stupid.

Shame really as apart from that its a really nice example

EDIT: sod rear wheels, just wheels and lowering in general.

EDIT2: and that red MK2 golf on g60 steelies is just the sex!

Remember that the Passat is on air-ride...it's only that low when it's stationary.

The wheels are also show-only.

Whats the deal with the "scoops" on the front of that passat?

Something to do with the suspension?

Mac

No - it's what is called a 'bonnet bra'...Designed to protect the front of your car from stone chips.

Since Worthersee 04 (I think :/) there's been a proliferation of people leaving them on at shows.

The 'scoops' are part of the bra that's on it. Don't really know why they have them, some do some don't.

Penski, close - but it's not a Wolfsburg Edition (also known as 'Edition One'), try digging deep into your mk2 knowledge!!

That red mk2 with the g60 steels is rather nice, to most people it'll look std but not quite right, they won;t be able to put their finger on it.

I love the MkII Golf, it was one of those cars that I always wanted when I started to drive (a good 14 years ago :( ). Although I'm not a fan of the euro styling (ie small wheels), much prefer the Golf Rallye styling, will try and dig out a pic or two.

What's that website where you can configure your own golfs, passats, jettas, new models and old?

We had a thread on it quite a while back...
