Your weight?

i'm 16st 9lbs, and about 6 foot 3, definitely overwight imo, and noticed some of my trousers are getting a bit tight in the waist. Think the fast food/drinking student life style is starting to catch up, which is why i'm starting at the gym, want to lost about a stone really.
 
I'm 6ft 1" and weigh in at 12 - 12 1/2 stone. I'm really self conscious of my weight and think I'm too skinny, I'm trying to bulk up by having a weight gain shake every day.

LOL, ye i dont want to be fat, in fact id hate that more than being underweight, i just want to bulk up. I do free weights in my room but i lack the space to use a bar so im going to join a gym at some point. Id like to weight about 14 stone really, allthough according to my DMI? im at my perfect weight for my height.

To bulk up you need a base to build from. You need a little bit of fat to convert to muscle IIRC
