I'm interested to see the regular / average working hours of folk on here - do we work to live or live to work?

Options based on a 5 day working week and excluding lunch breaks:

Less than 6 hours per day
6-7 hours per day

contracted for 7-8 hours, tend to work through lunch though and been hitting 40 hours overtime for the last 2 months

7 hours a day, I don't get paid for over-time so don't do it.

Doing over I can understand for those claiming it - but how many of us do over for free? (as it effectively reduces your hourly rate)

Contracted to an 8hr day, can do a 9 day fortnight though which would then increase the amount per day if done.

5 days a week. On call for the rest of it.

I only get paid for 35 hours a week.

48 hour working week, mix of 8 and 12 hour shifts, days, nights and evenings.

9.6hrs a day if your average it out over a 5 day week.

mine works out at 44 hours a week after breaks (5 in 1 off 5 in 2 off 3 in 2 off 3 in 2 off 3 in 2 off then back to the start.)

Now wonder I ended up crazy.

For most of my working life I worked 12 hour days at least (often 16 hours days) then more often than not 8 hours Sat & Sun
