YouTube Premium

Not looked into it extensively but am I the only one on YouTube getting picture freezing often followed by buffering after 10-20 seconds and shorts having very low bitrate for the first 10-20 seconds? been having it the last 2-3 days but not spent any time checking if it is connection, etc. but all other sites are working fine.

Yeah happening here as well, started doing it from yesterday morning, also if i type in the comment section i get a big delay between writing a word and it showing
i use Adblock Plus and also VeePN for the chrome browser, although i don't have the VPN on, it just serves as another ad blocking tool

I seem to remember a slight pause issue with FF and Ublock Origin nearer the start of the whole anti adblock stuff but then it went away. I seem to remember people suggesting updating lists back then, so I'd try switching browser and adblocker and see if it fixes the problem or not.

Youtube just did a big update again, waiting on ublock!

Youtube just did a big update again, waiting on ublock!

I noticed this, had the blacked out banners again warning of me of my adblocker in use and to disable it.

The incogito trick I used last time worked fine on my laptop, but with a new setup on a new TV I can't use it on that which I've got used to, so I looked at my VPN and noticed that Nord has servers in India again.

Never done the VPN trick before, so tried it out, setup a revolut virtual card and all of a sudden I was living at the British Consulate in Mumbai which resulted me paying 1290 Indian Rupees (£12.09) for the year. Better than £12.99 a month for sure, it all went through and surprised how easy it was to be honest.

I'd consider myself Tech Savvy, however I've never used a Revolut/Monzo/Starling type account/card before.

I'll take that.

How did you manage to set the Revolut card to India? Mine won't let me choose India as a country...

I never get picture freezing, my Youtube Premium experience is perfect however I don't use a VPN aside from when I subscribed to YouTube.

It isn't related to any ad block or VPN usage, I can only assume it is related to this recent update which includes another attempt to block ads.

Weirdly it behaves differently between different browsers (depending a bit on what the underlying engine is) on Chromium based stuff generally it just flashes up a grid of black rectangles and image segments for a moment and then continues instead of stalling and/or eventually going to, usually infinite, buffering as it does on Firefox and some other browsers. It is almost always at the same spot(s) on a video unless I clear the cache then it starts happening at another random spot.

I setup my standard UK account, setup an Indian Rupees account when I clicked 'Add a new Account' and then just transferred the amount I needed in Rupees over. It did it's google card authentication check and then went through when I paid. Nords VPN server was in Mumbai so I just picked a random address in Mumbai when I paid and it all went through.

Thanks I'll give that a go!
