Some of what we got up to at the weekend :D

Would I be correct in stating thats Saariselka, Lapland?

If so, I've been down that very long and steep sledge run and the snow mobiles too! Turning the sledge was somewhat problematic, especially about halfway, over a bridge then into a series of tight turns!

You sir, are correct! About 3 quarters the way down after the 2nd bridge the bumps get quite harsh and if you are not firmly planted on the sled your rear will take a literal pounding :o

Yes I remember them well. When the Northern Lights were visible people were lying down on the slope to watch them, a few near misses were had by us! It's the longest sledge run in Europe if I remember correctly!

A bunch of us set off from the top at the same time and on one of the bridges a few people were casually strolling up in the middle!!! At this point a few of us almost crashed and had to take action. Not lol!

Inside Combat Rescue - A National Geographic documentary series charting the tour of the USAF Para-Rescue Jumpers (PJ's) in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Out there they're basically used as the USAF's air-ambulance (similar to our MERT) as well as being the rescue crew for downed Pilots.

This youtube channel has all the episodes so far (3 of 6) in HD -

Talking of Retards......

I can understand the initial dragging, at least to an extent(*). The driver's quite a way from the truck he's dragging and driving a vehicle easily capable of dragging it. I can see how he might not notice, although I would have thought that he should have noticed the smoke.

But to carry on dragging it after it had been clearly pointed out to him...why? "It'll be all right". No, it won't. It already isn't all right. Another 3 miles will only make it worse.

Maybe it wasn't his truck and he was deliberately ruining it. That would make sense.

* Towing a pickup truck like that looks like a bad idea to me anyway, even if it wasn't in park.
