One of my gf's school friend's entry to a pole-dancing competition

Her strength to weight ratio probably puts anyone on this forum to shame!

I think you'd have to be looking at athletes in certain sports (e.g. rowing) to match her. She can't weigh very much at all, but she's clearly strong. Granted, balance and skill count for a lot in gymnastics, but there was plenty of movement in that routine that needed more strength than would be expected from someone her size.

We have floor events and horizontal bar events in gymnastics. Why not a vertical pole event? Or events, as there are different styles with different poles. Like Mallakhamb:

At the risk of having this one drowned in amongst most of the dross that gets posted here.
This is a little more of an intellectual watch

Sorry to nit pick to a potentially redundant level, but her strength to weight ratio isn't that impressive. Her shoulders are good in some slightly awkward positions, her back will be strong and her control is obviously fantastic, but those bodyweight movements don't require that much strength. Yes, compared to the average woman she's clearly stronger, but by no means exceptional when compared to certain athletes, some of whom browse the forum.

Also, rowing certainly wouldn't be my go-to sport when thinking of strong individuals :p

He's rather less skinny than she is, though.

I should have worded it more accurately. Not simply strength to weight ratio, but strength while being small and skinny.

Rowing wouldn't be my go-to sport when thinking of strong individuals, but I think it's a fair example for a sport calling for high strength with low weight, especially for women.

He's only 83kg, she couldn't shift anywhere near 4x body weight even if it had wheels on :p "strength" is not where her talent lies. Being strong and small isn't really that rare, I could find you smaller/lighter guys who still move silly amounts of weight around.

Like I said, I'm only nit picking :)
