that is brilliant

I am left wondering a few things...

how well connected are both sides of that beach (i.e. have they just caused a bunch of people to take a really long walk now the beach has been split in two) :D

how close are they to the actual mouth of the river? (presumably pretty nearby else it would be a bit dodgy to do this)

are there any rivers in the UK where you can do this?

I don't think we have any in the UK :(

It's a tidal locked river, when the sea is stronger than the force of the water in the river then it deposits sand/shingle creating a natural dam, when the force of water in the river builds up enough to breach the dam then the river flows out into the sea until the force of the sea is stronger to rebuild the dam

I guess the Aussies here are manually breaching so they can have some fun

Here's a natural version in South Africa

It's pretty crazy how quickly things speed up once that water gets flowing properly

After watching this, it makes me think if the whole pirate problem was on purpose, after all, the insurance companies are making 30-40%+ sweet bank from what they used to make.

Also lol @ how they caught the pirates, took their weapons away, then gave them food and water.

Well you can't just randomly execute people and they do have certain requirements for prosecution etc.. granted giving them fresh water and sandwiches and helping with navigation seems a bit off, it is pretty clear they're pirates regardless, should have just taken the weapons and then left them to it.

That lone female sailor on the commercial ship though.... bet she gets passed around!

That's pretty cool, I'd generally thought of rabbits as something little kids get, stick in a hutch and perhaps let out in a run in the garden during the daytime... I had heard of people training them to use a litter tray in the house etc.. seems like a much better way to keep them, give them plenty of interaction so they're not scared ****less when picked up/handled and a lot more freedom.

Yeah, I quite often considered getting a rabbit, though I expect the chewing through wires might be a problem... :D
