*** Youtube/Video thread ***

The only logic I can attribute to it, is their new introduction of thumbnails actually playing clips of the video, larger thumbs = easier to see

I would rather have the old layout though of small thumbs so I'm not scrolling through trash recommendations I have zero interest and have never shown any interest in
You can bring back the old style Youtube:
Thanks uo u/bensonburner85 from r/youtube. make sure you're on an active youtube tab. click on menu [top right] > Web Developer > Storage Inspector. Expand "Cookies" from left hand-pane, click on www.youtube.com. find "PREF" under "Name" column, and put this value : al=en&f5=30030&f6=8

click the tiny refresh button. see image for reference.

Jesus Christ.. :D

That's brilliant, it's like how a hypnotists picks on the most "susceptible"(or rather most happy to play along/gullible) of the batch and just keeps on heightening with whatever he can get away with.

Similar stuff in so called "traditional" martial arts with kung fu masters, karate teachers etc.. and their students who will thrown themselves on the floor when the master/sensei type wants them to:

Anyway back to the religious stuff - it works well with music:

And so as not to leave it with just Christians, here are some muslims having a good old rave too:

edit - should include the jews too for the sake of equality:

(the comment section on these videos is a bit.....:eek::eek::eek:)

@Scania why don't we have these in the UK (I've never seen so assume they don't exist here) ?
I’m assuming your referring to it running away by running on its own engine oil?

A lot of older diesels work on the fuel pump for cutting the engine, the pump stops and thus will the engine.

In a runaway situation this won’t have any effect as the engine is running on its own oil so stopping the fuel pump is useless, modern (which the majority of European diesels are due to eu emissions regulations) will close the air intake to stop the engine, so whilst a run away can occur its stopped in its tracks by the driver killing the ignition. :)

Eh? He's referring to what he's seen (or rather not seen) - I'd assume he means the big ramp no?

(though IIRC we do sometimes have sections of road after a down hill section with some sort of gravel pit etc..)

We do have escape lanes, but they often have gravel traps instead. There's one just outside Amersham, for example where lorry drivers are supposed to get one side to dig in.
Yep, I know of one in Cumbria but it’s been ignored for years and has become overgrown so I doubt it’d be very effective. I only know of one instance in 30yrs where it was used.

Yeah I meant the ramps but I guess he kind of answered why we really don't see them because we don't really get runaway trucks

Weird, I thought I was well driven but I've never seen one

I’d had beer :o :D

There’s plenty of escape lanes over the U.K. road network, one springs to mind on the A52 near Cauldon Low Staffordshire, I pass it most weeks.

Basically very steep hills tend to have them but I guess you don’t particularly look out for them unless your driving a heavy vehicle in which case it’s always a good idea to clock them just in case....
