*** Youtube/Video thread ***

I was inspired today. It started with a TED talk by Sarah Kay about how spoken word poetry helps people feel alive, to have their stories heard and a means to express themselves with all their soul and might.

I just don't get how this is even possible. They're faster than speeder bikes in Jedi!
Jump to 7 mins where they're actually racing if you don't want to watch the whole thing.
And for the experts out there - I believe the title is misleading, apparently they're only doing 175-180mph and not 200 but still.. holy moly...

They would have been off within the first 500 yards if they were in my region, there are more potholes than there are road :D

Posted in motors but worthy of GD thread also I think.

Awesome and harrowing all at the same time.

I was thinking "oh bugger" at first, but he didn't really hit anything, he didn't bang his head off anything or have any dramatic neck movement and the car held up well as you'd expect, so I was "meh".. that's not harrowing at all.

I love people who push themselves, and I can empathise with those who try to do it while genuinely caring about those close to them, but honestly I think GoPro desperately tried to milk the sentimental angle there.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't like to see people getting injured, but other than certainly being spectacular, it wasn't in the least bit harrowing. It looks like I've hurt myself more driving a hire kart (with a GoPro).
