He puts his hand through the exact same location of the window every time, meaning that there must be a hole in the window in that location (flesh and bone can't pass through glass in that manner after all).

Notice the awkward way he places the newspaper on the window as he removes the section of glass (possibly plastic) underneath it. Also notice how he always wipes the window with the newspaper afterwards, the other side of the newspaper is probably coated with a resin designed to cover up the circular seal where the window and hole cover meet.
