Z4M + Alternatives - Talk to me

I think the Z4M and BMW warranty option is sounding promising at the moment. 15k will buy you a very nice Z4M.
Are you going to buy the car back if they give you the option? The mods alone must be worth a fair bit?

I'd rather spend ~£15K and have a slush fund for repairs, etc.

Neil.

15k I'd be looking at nice examples off:-

E46 M3 CS /w SMG - Try it you might like it, otherwise get a manual
Z4M - But couple, it had quite a lot of more uprated suspension parts/brakes compared to the soft top varient, as your more focused on handling ability, the Coupe version is noticable better than soft top.
Cayman/Boxster - Awesome handling dynamics, but you want newer with smaller engine ideally, less issues, just 15k could either mean smaller engine, or a more powerful yet higher risk car. Plus they are all lacking a bit in outright power compared to what your used too.
EVO / Scoob - 15k gets you an EVO X / EVO 9 FQ or a very nice Scoob, not considered getting a sorted 4WD turbo wagon, or you dead against the lack of driver involvement?

Widcard - S197 Mustang V8, its not you, but hey, 15k gets you one. :p

If it was me I'd be looking at an M3. Whilst not even remotely similar to the Elise they are damn good fun to drive.

+1 sorry to hear..

Invest the money in a short-term, high-risk account and then I have two words for you..

Alfa Romeo 4C

(actually that's three words. And the third word isn't actually a word)

A Z4is is more of a GT than a cruiser.

CSL is a little out of budget but would be my choice

I just looked at CSL's, 100k+ examples going for nearly 30k and the sub 60k examples seem to be closing onto 40k now.

should have kept mine.....

They don't all seem to be that expensive.

116k miles £23k - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...smg-auto-full-bmw-service-history-2003/921069

60k miles £26k - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...-m3-00-06/bmw-3-series-e46-m3-csl-2004/955256

£32k seems to get a good low mileage one so not £40k really.

Super cheap 996 GT3 if you can stomach 185k... http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/911-gt3-996/porsche-911-996-gt3-2004/985783
