z77x d3h boot cycling

we'll the hope lasted long! put in the pc to sleep after posting on this forum earlier, attempted to wake up, boot cycle, and eventual boot after the bios reset my setting to default.

Im going to have to speak to the lovely people at ocuk, and hopefully come to some sort of arrangement, as this isnt something im prepared to live with.

what ram are you using? and what dram and cpu/vtt voltages?

don't get any loops at all here using 3770k and z77 up4 th,sleep works fine aswell

max safe for vtt is 1.2v but you shouldn't need that much

and yeah the .5v rule also applied to x58 boards but not sure if its the same for z68/77 ect

could try dram v at 1.55v also,it wont hurt your ram

ok, so after the bios re-set it self ive left the ram at standard, (1.5v 667 9 9 9 24) and raised vcore another notch just in case, and set vtt to to 1.08 from 1.04 default i think.

we'll see how that plays, it being a intermittent issue its given me false hope before.

Good luck mate :) After raising the cpu vtt a notch I've not had any loop. Granted, I've only turned it on once lol! :D

How have you been getting on with this Lollox? Since I last posted things were absolutely fine and I thought I'd sorted it. I didn't realise at the time but it coincided with installing a 2nd 7850 and after bumping up the vtt as above to 1.08 all was good. Don't think I had one boot loop.

However, since flogging both the cards, one a week after the other I noticed almost immediately that with one card the board loops. Not to bad at 1st but now I've replace the 7850's with a 290 it's as bad as it's ever been. It looped 7 times yesterday before loading the recovery screen :(

Annoying issue. Maybe something to do with the pcie lanes? Who knows...

mixed to be honest. I had no or next to no loops for around a week and a half, then an evening with 4 or 5 blue screens. I swapped psu back to my coolermaster, then all was good for about a week. Then regularish loops, usually a quick one then into windows, but the other day a longer one with a warning about boot failure and settings maybe unstable. but boots up fine on the same settings next loop.

Only thing I have noticed, which may not be relavant is that my usb sound card requires disconnecting and reconnecting sometimes after these loops.

I have had the odd irq not less or equal bsod too recently. PCs, who'd have em.

I would put it down to poor bios support for sb cpu's on z77 idk,it shouldn't blue screen at all

don't get that with my up4 th,did you catch the bsod codes

i have blue screen view which extracts the data from the dump files. Trying to figure out the linking policy on this site to post a screenie.

it might be worth trying latest modded bios, they include the latest cpu microcodes plus other stuff

edit: success :) thanks wazza. The ones on the 5th were power supply related i think, the ones from the end of dec may have been testing the oc. Possibly.
