Promised myself I'll complete some other games before cracking it open. It's my motivation. :p

lol probably for the best, my other wii games didnt get taken out their boxes for agggggeeeeesss while playing this

I know some people say it's 1 of the weakest Zelda games, but for me, it's up there with Link to the past as my favourite.

The storyline, the artwork and the slightly darker setting all did it for me, plus the Wii controls :)

Yup, the wind wakers great unless you have a large hate towards cel shaded graphics

Time to pick up a GC pad from somewhere then! Wonder how much the official ones are going for 2nd hand these days..

I loved TP, best game I've played in yearrrrrs. I'm going to pick up WW, Wavebird controller, official "standard" controller and OOT, TMM, LTTP off Virtual console as soon as my wage comes through (30th!!)

Think the Wind Waker for the GC is worth getting as I enjoyed TP so much?
After about 70% it becomes obvious they started running out of time, Nintendo even admitted that it was rushed. It's a real shame as up to that point it's a great game.

Check out the paper mario series of RPGs too, they're great!

I've still got Ocarina of Time and Paper Mario sitting on my Wii waiting to be played, along with Metroid Prime 2 and of course Twighlight Princess.

So many games and such little time! :p

Definately. I actualy enjoyed WW more, it's just a shame it was a little rushed and that the sailing could at times be annoying. The best bits of Wind Waker are as good as Zelda has gotten imo.

TP is great, think I preferred WW though.

Oh and to the guy that hasn't opened his.

I currently have

SSX: Blur
Mario Strikers
The Godfather: Blackhand Edition
and my mate leant me Rayman ravin rabbits.

To complete before I let myself get RE4 :p

Ive played about 4hrs of Zelda and feel like ive only just started lol, just rescued one of the light spririts and thats all. Great game though. Cant wait to go fishing :D

I think WW's graphic are timeless, because the way is done it looks like animation instead of polygon hence it won't ever age.

if you guys are playing zelda for the first time then i think its a must that you definately play the back catalog. Ocarina etc. They are just some of the best games there are!

2 of my mates are going to pop round later and were going to play a bit of four swords :D

Zelda TP is awesome indeed I'm bout 11 hours into the game on the gorgon mines and I'll recommend this game to anyone, As for WW I never got to complete that game I enjoyed what I played but got bored close to the end.

I just went back and finished Twilight Princess. Oddly enough GC Paper Mario is on my floor next to my Wii waiting to be replayed and actually finished, and Im just playing Metroid Prime 2 now! Seems Im not the only one.

Twilight Princess I think having finally completed it (45Hrs roughly, and never collected all the hearts etc) (damned getting sidetracked by other things), is a very well made, enchanting little game, that rates as my best game of 2006. I look forward to the next Zelda game, which is being designed for the Wii, rather than for the GC and ported, I mean for a GC designed game, the graphics and art direction on TP were gobsmacking in some areas, sharper, more detailed graphics (cannot wait til Zelda one day goes HD) designed for the improved power of the Wii should look gorgeous. Zelda: TP is really one of those games that to me sums up just how important art style, direction and effort are in making a game look, if this game had been released in HD, with the improved textures to go with the improved resolutions, I really think this game could give most games out now a shot on the graphical front.

As mentioned before though, if starting to play your first Zelda, I'd actually recommend going to play some of the back catalogue first, as theres so many little nudges, hint, nods to and referances towards other games in the series through the enemies, settings, musical score etc, that you probably wont appreciate it as much as you could until you play some of the others, then play this, and let some of the touches just fill you with nostalgia and memories, and in the musical sense, enjoy the improvements and refinements made!

Also to the person talking about Wind Waker, yes its definately worth playing. OK, its not the best Zelda ever, its certainly a very fun, charming little game, if you can look past the cell shading and its flaws (a lot of sailing).

I'd agree with this... I played TP with my son as he got it with his Wii for Xmas. He only fairly recently completed it (he's still young so it took him longer than it would have done if I was playing alone) and so we picked up WW from the MM here. I know exactly what you mean about the references in the enemies, settings, etc... and especially the music. We're enjoying doing the series backwards but I think it would have been even better if we'd started with the earlier titles and then worked up to TP.

One great thing about starting out with the Zelda series now is that the back catalogue is cheap to pick up these days... can't remember how much I paid for WW but it wasn't much (and was in tiptop condition as you'd expect on the MM) and it's the bonus edition too. Plus OoT is on the VC too, so that's another cheap purchase :)
