Well, I managed to fix the issue (sorry I didn't get any pictures due to the 6 hours I was working on it!!)

The switch wasn't switching properly, all cables seemed fine though. In the end, I stripped the whole thing down, and found that the action point on the switch was very very sensitive, pressed too much, it wouldn't work, pressed not enough, it wouldn't work, it had to be just right.

so I ended up making it so that It was a little stiffer to bend the limit switch by making a small spacer out of epoxy resin which then acted as a leaver so that it gets pressed to the point it stops. Took a lot of trial and error and I will probably look to see if I have any of the same switches at work, but at least I was able to use it!

Cheers :D I am hoping to get a bigger better one when I can afford one <3 I do love messing with it, even if I do suck at trying to make anything that isn't already on thingiverse haha.

Speaking of which, are there any other good sites for the .stl or what ever the file is called? :D

Does anyone own the fabrikator Mini V1.5 from hobby king? Looks pretty good for the money. Tempted to pick one up, especially as i will most likely try and 3d print a model of my head then never touch it again.

nope, however loads of videos on youtube, everyone seems pretty happy with them. apart from people who don't wont to troubleshoot, or moan about getting a broken unit. lots of simple upgrades with how to videos on youtube as well.

anyone know a youtuber, that does laser engravers/cutters. loads of specialist for 3d printing. so little info about lasers though.

I see they only have the au version of the fabrikator mini left. Am I right in assuming it'll just be a aussie plug, still 230v etc.

Anyone know how long postage from the international warehouse takes?

Do yourself a favour and get something with a larger build area, you'll get bored really quick with an 80x80x80mm build volume.

but to answer your question it uses a 12v 6A supply, and appears to have a removable plug lead so a UK lead shouldn't be to hard to find. Just check the PSU specs first if you do get one.

I broke my Tevo. :(

In a totally ridiculous and stupid manner as well. Finally printed all the brackets and support upgrades to make the frame more rigid and upgrade a few bits on the Z axis. Installed them all, but set the depth on the Z limit switch too high which in turn pushed the X axis bar into the bed and snapped the Z motor mount.

There was swearing, I'll be honest.

Fortunately I've managed to jury rig it together and have cobbled some supports to see it through a print, so hopefully I should be able to print off another bracket over the weekend. Will need to babysit it though, because if it goes it'll destroy itself I'm sure. Live and you learn.

Thanks bud, I'll let you know how I get on this weekend. I grabbed the STL for the Tevo supplied Z mount which should be a 2 hour print, then once I've got that I'll print the upgraded part with a hefty infill. :D Thanks for the kind offer though, much obliged!

Definitely a word of warning in there, the supplied parts are nowhere near as strong as I thought they were. That or those steppers can really put out some torque.

Sorry to hear that randal, give use a shout if you need any parts printed.

For those interested I'm going to try and get my review of the NFire 1 3D printer up at the weekend, haven't actually recorded it yet but I'm hopeful :p.
