Hopefully the other 99.99% of the country are a bit more sensible.

Choosing to go against the "international community" despite the legal issues would make us completely untrustworthy internationally, good luck with trade deals then.

Starting to sound like some people would consider it acceptable to have as much trust in us as north korea, just to stop dem immigrants

Massive over exaggeration there.

Most countries aren't really going to give a **** about how the uk treats illegal immigrants.

Especially when it comes to trade.

Case in point look at Australia.

Which trade deals do you think Australia has lost out on?

Which countries treat Australia with "as much trust as north korea"

You'd have a point if he'd said something about not paying back loans or something actually related to trade, but just refusing asylum claims from people illegally entering from france isnt goinf to affect trade one bit

Really?

Sounds more like the paranoid ravings of a bigot to me.

If there was anything close to what you suggest I suggest every one of the Eu nations would have pretty much nothing but that as news.

It's not bigoted to try to protect your own country from people who try to come in and take advantage and people within who can't see the wood for the trees.

If you care to take a look at the news we never seen the likes of the amount of rapes and sexual assaults by immigrants like we did 5 years ago. Germany and Sweden are suffering the most.

Its not what I see when I travel with work, nor what any of my European colleagues mention at all.
Oh wow lol, conformation bias or what? Surprisingly rapists tend to try to hide their actions in front of other people and don't do it out in the open.

When did Australia's immigration problems become directly relevant to the EU?

Secondly what bilateral treaties does Australian have with France in terms of the treatment of Asylum seekers between their shared border?

Bilateral immigration treaties won't be relevant to trade deals the UK makes with Australia, China etc. but will matter with European countries, the single most important trade partner the UK has.

Finally, Australia would argue they are playing within the rules. They haven't suddenly repealed all conventions and treaties, which aren't even as specific as the ones the UK has with the likes of France.

What has any of that got to do with the point the poster made?

That point being refusing all asylum claims from people who have entered illegally via france.

We do bot have any agreement with France saying such.

And again its not going to make the uk north korea is it.

France will make it a leveraging point. France doesn't even have to accept deportations if we're going to make this a tit for tat thing.

No it won't put the UK in the axis of evil. No one has suggested that. But suggesting making all our neighbours suffer by our actions and them somehow expect everything to happen as normal is deluded.

I saw a report this weekend that Pakistan has asked all three million Afghan refugees in the country to leave in a short space of time. If they can do that then why can't France do the same with a large proportion of the ~9000 so-called refugees in Calais.

Because France has a judicial system which makes their country much much better than Pakistan.

France does want all of them to apply for aslylum in France, but unfortunately they won't.
