Sure that's a solution but a silly one as I shouldn't need to remember if I leave the page for one second, everything is lost. Google in fact we're supposed to be stopping that so that long searches like this were easily something you can get back to.
Perfect that works. Still silly solution as really, there's absolutely no reason why when searching, as soon as I click all open apps button, it closes the search

Doesn't look so great when you can get an 8 pro from Google direct for £490, with £307 trade in for my 7a (which I paid less than 300 for).

The regular Pixel 8 is currently £569 direct from Google so that's a much better buy and you get £215 trade-in for your phone.

It's pretty good, but works out £25 per month just for the a series, if you did this every year. Then plus network contract. Seems in that case it's starting to be better to be contract phone over sim only and get a sim on top these days.

This is backwards. The 8A is 6.1 inches & the 8 is 6.2 inches according to GSM Arena.
