I got quoted £1800 (best price) when using confused when looking at a Ford Focus for my first car.

20 years old, just passed my test, 2003 1.6 zetec model 3 door, alloys blah blah etc, FC insurance, with a £50 excess (using excess insurance) including everything.

Omg why wont it?

On what planet will a Focus 1.4 cost £1400 more to insure than a Clio 1.2?

i did the quote, thats the price i got, im not lying?

You did THE quote. Thats the singular. Thats why you got a high quote. The insurer you tried did not want your business for that car. There are HUNDREDS of car insurance companies out there..

Im not stupid ive used 4 comparison sites

Which 30 seconds searching on here would reveal are rarely useful for young drivers.

and 4 normal sites

A whole 4?

Are you a fan of his?

Let me find a screenshot.

Dont waste your time. Nobody is disputing you got A £3800 quote, but the point is lower quotes exist.

I was quoted £6000 to insure my car this year from one insurer. Does that mean OMG ITS £6k? No, it means they didnt want my business so I went with someone else.

My budget for my current car that i'm in the process of looking for is £7-8K.

I'm looking at 2.0 Focus Titaniums (06-07) and having some change spare, or an A3 Sportback, Mk V Golf etc.

If I spent that on a 1.2 Clio i'd be so angry with myself, I can't believe you don't feel robbed. Utterly bonkers.

If you're happy with it then good luck to you, but you've been had, big time. No amount of poor credit rating or age should make you have to resort to this.

Stop wasting your time with pointless screen grabs and read what people are posting.

Although interestingly your screenshots have proven you wrong - £2268 for a Focus LX. Rather less than the £3800 you claimed you couldnt get it under for a Focus, eh? Cheaper than you paid for your Clio as well!

Who cares, I got quoted 3k for my Escort in my first year. I spent a couple of hours on the phone and I paid 1400 in the end. You just fail at shopping around. You won't get far in life if this mentality to money doesn't stop now.

He genuinelly reckons the cheapest possible quote on a base Focus is £3800, which of course even with whatever circumstances he has, will not be the case.
