Still loving this, despite already knowing the story well, so knowing what's coming up, it doesn't fail to completely enthral me.

That mother of the heir/young emperor is the woman in the death bed scene we saw in a previous episode making eyes at Lord Toranaga right?
The dying emperor mentions something about their past and Lord Toranaga makes some statement about not having an interest in pursuing pretty women etc.. but???

Was he possibly shagging the Emperor's wife? Or is he possibly the real father of the "heir"?
It seems like his claim is directly contradicted in that earlier episode as we're also presented with some sit-down scene with both his older wife and some young pregnant woman carrying his baby + we know he already has a son/heir of his own so, seems like he is a bit of a shagger after all!

Imagine if The Last Samurai was a TV show instead of a movie and an unknown actor instead of Cruise - I think its that good but I'm probably biased TBF.
