For those getting a 7ms ping to the BBC... Where are you located? I've just got Sky FTTC installed today and my pings are 14ms!

I get 6ms pings to the BBC from Epping in Essex. If you are interleaved your pings will be a bit higher - is your modem unlocked so you can see the interleaving status?

Nope it's only just been installed today so it has to stay on for 10 days for the 'training period'.

I am in the North West so that could explain a slightly higher ping to the BBC.. I hope I'm not interleaved already after only having it for 4 hours :p

The 10 day training thing is a myth for FTTC - one disconnection to unlock the modem won't do any harm.

I guess I'll just have to live with an extra 4ms :p

On my second day now and still getting max speeds - 38Mb on ethernet. I don't use ethernet though as I only have a MacBook and only getting 26Mb via wifi...but I guess I can live with that!

Well I couldn't resist it and got the Fibre Pro upgrade. Over the moon with the speed I'm getting now!

I take it sky are still one of the best for FTTC? Im currently on Sky ADSL and getting 6mb :( and sky think I should get around 26mb on fibre which is huge compared to 6mb!

I have a couple of questions..

How long is the current wait for this to be installed?
What kind of upload speeds should I expect?
Would you recommend Sky Fibre?

Thanks :)
