Shame I couldn't join you guys last night, my internet was full on potato. Virgin have given me a discount for the last two months of rubbishnet, but they've massively over subscribed the available bandwidth in my area, so I'm not convinced they'll be able to fix it soon.

BT infinity is looking more and more attractive. I could live with 60-70Mbit and lower latency if it's reliable.

It should be better over the Christmas holidays when all the freeloading porn junkies go home to their parents.

I had the exact same issues when I used to be on VM. Living anywhere near a student area essentially made my internet useless during term time (which isn't the student's fault - it's VM's for not provisioning their network properly).

Definitely switch over to FTTC. It's so much more reliable.

I also caved in and took a trip to Mexico yesterday. Only had a few games but it feels better than the beta did, will see how it goes, its a decent time waster until the film comes out if nothing else! :D

FWIW regarding the FoV in this game its vertical not horizontal, so if you want a horizontal FoV of 90 you need to set this at 59 in game. (same as BF4 IIRC?) Personally I find if you go too high it makes it harder to see the enemy at a distance, and can give a fisheye effect. :)

Nexus, FoV calculator here might be of interest? http://www.rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php

Thanks v_r :) And yup, same as BF 4.

Think I might stick with about 60-65, if I had a 16.9 display, I would probably use 75. Last night I played with 85 and I did ok but as you said, when it came to targets at a distance, I could barely make them out, they looked so thin :p

I'll need to get a user config sorted out too.

Watched levelcap's video last night on what to fix and I pretty much agree with everything:

If Dice don't want their game to die a quick death like titanfall + hardline, they really need to address these issues fast otherwise in 3 months time, most people will be fed up with the broken balance and have moved onto something else, the "omg star wars" hype/excitement factor can only last so long...

So is this worth buying or not?

Are you looking for...

1. a serious and competitive shooter?
2. a game with a lot of depth?
3. a game where you can squad up and play with more than 1 friend?
4. a battlefield game?

... then no :p

However if you are looking for...

1. an arcady, no pressure and non-competitive shooter?
2. OMG STAR WARS!?
3. amazing visuals and sounds?
4. that 'look mom I did an awesome thing in the video game' feeling?
5. SERIOUSLY YOU GUYS... STAR WARS!!!?
6. an exercise in geographical gymnastics in order to avoid EA's ludicrous price point?
7. 'Hey look isn't that Boba Fett?' *explodes*

... then yes :p

Just for some clarification I have bought the game, love star wars, and want to like the game ;)

Beta was enough and black hole ensured.
I was suprised they choose the direction they did but more console design is a bad idea.

Me too, need to get my sens setup too, doesn't feel quite right yet. Will have a play later.

Does the same all low with ultra Mesh etc still stand with this like BF4? :D

Basically everything that should have been caught after 5 minutes of play-testing, oh wait..i forgot that's a dirty term at EA, it might make them delay the launch by a few days. :o

Pretty much what crispy said, I'm just trying to enjoy the game for it is, which is just a quick jump in casual game not to be taken too seriously and the lol moments with the regulars on discord.

@vr

Low4pros

:D

I have lowered a few settings more so to just maintain a 125fps rate so I don't get obvious screen tearing. Iirc I have set texture quality, filtering & terrain quality to high with mesh set to ultra, everything else off/low.

I requested a refund in the end, didn't think I'd even get £30 worth of enjoyment from it, didn't even have the urge to play it after my first stint like you do with some new games.

Might pick it up in future if they change it for the better.

Those of you sticking with it, enjoy! :)

Looks like out of the Battlefield boys you and I are the only one staying strong, so for that I will take over Nexus's role

#staystrong

:D

Until they fix the issues raised from the beta I am not touching it, unless it comes down to a tenner by December. Yes I get that it is a fun game but that doesn't hide the fact that the game has issues.

Why would you even want to do this? It isn't a competitive game and it is visually stunning without being over the top with the silly visual effects in Battlefield that a detriment to gameplay. If your card can cope then wack it to Ultra and enjoy it. ;)

With the DLC landing on Monday, hopefully there will be a lot of changes to the game too....

I got till Wednesday to get a refund so they better not disappoint!

On a separate note, TAA lol....... Might as well call it a blurry mess

Just found out that the emote I want only comes with the deluxe edition.... :( That emote was the best thing about this game!

Only 3 were exclusive with the deluxe edition

- Ion Shock
- Victory dance
- Princess Leia twerk

Which one did you want, I'm sure they will sell these in a battlepack soon. :p
