All over the world...
He wasn't released, he left.

He was offered a 2 year contract, but wanted longer. When it became clear that wasn't coming, he decided to leave.

So basically hes doing exactly what he did when he originally left us:p.

I wouldnt mind seeing Benzema at Arsenal, hes french so Wenger already has a hard on for him:p. But Di Maria?? no thanks, dont want that rat faced diver at Arsenal and he hasnt exactly set the world alight since hes been at Real.

Again Arsenal doing it wrong. Podolski, hasn’t been that great so far, but he has been playing mostly left wing. He doesn’t have the pace of trickery for that position. Play him upfront, might be a different story.

But but Wenger knows best doesnt he??...id like to see Pod play upfront myself, its his perferred position but he can play left wing as well which is where Wenger uses him. Although lately he hasnt been used much, dont know why he isnt an automatic starter in our team unless hes not fully fit or him and Wenger have had a falling out.

The Guardian are reporting that Real Madrid have come in for Suarez now, they'll be more difficult to hold off than Arsenal, they will likely bid a bit higher though.

If they've just spent £93m on Bale, can they afford £50m for Suarez too... :/

Does this mean Ronaldo is on! :p

RonaldON?!?!?

Would you really want a player that would flip flop like that at the last minute anyway?

Anyway, I'm going away tomorrow morning, I'm back Monday evening. If there's no more Utd transfer news by then....

That is exactly it. Spurs are a last resort for him (as demonstrated with our previous attempts to sign him). He will want to leave as soon as a large club come knocking if he performs. If he doesn't perform, we overpaid. This is lose, lose for Spurs.

Pull the offer and move on to other targets IMHO

Would it really be off-putting? Would someone in HR at Deloitte get irked if a potential graduate entrant was also considering offers from E&Y/KPMG/PwC? No, it's just a sign they're a quality prospect.

Well assuming Willian is more partner level than a graduate (there are hardly 1000s of players of Willian's supposed calibre). If a partner flip flopped on joining a big 4, then yes, there is a real possibility that the offer would be withdrawn.

how the heck does one become a football agent? i'm considering it myself :p

if i had to guess, i would hazard you need to be a lawyer specialising in contract law, or at least know a hell of a lot about contract law.

you would also need to be corrupt and do a lot of dodgy handshakes and/or need to know some prominent figures within the football world.

Willian deal still not settled:

Chelsea launched an eleventh-hour attempt to try to hijack the deal for Willian last night, just as the Brazil attacking midfielder was poised to sign for Tottenham Hotspur.

The West London club agreed a £29 million fee with Anzhi Makhachkala after the 25-year-old was close to agreeing a five-year contract with Spurs, who thought that they had sealed a deal at the same price and beaten off competition from Liverpool.

Haha this is the best thing pardew has said ever.

oPardew said he was “not resigned” to Cabaye leaving, ahead of Saturday's first home game of the season against West Ham United. “Because you cannot go on a forecourt of a car showroom and say to the dealership: ‘Here is what my valuation is and I’m just going to drive off with the car.’

“It does not work like that. You have to agree and only then can you drive it off. We have had one bid and it was not acceptable.

Good to hear, from Pardew. The best thing going for us re Cabaye is that Arsenal are the only club with concrete interest -they're hardly known for 'getting things done' on the transfer market. Wouldn't be surprised to find that Wenger thinks Flamini was a suitable alternative.

Hopefully PSG's level of interest will remain at Laurent Blanc telling the press how much he loves Cabaye.

I'm starting to think the whole Cabaye saga was a "tap up" job. Clearly Arsenal knew the £10m was pitiful. The fans don't want him, Wenger doesn't want him. Have Arsenal actually came out and stipulated they actually made a bid for Cabaye?

The only person that wants this deal to go through is Cabaye!

Roma Starlet In London For Tottenham Medical

Erik Lamela - RomaErik Lamela’s move to Tottenham Hotspurs seems imminent after his brother confirmed the Roma star is in London.

The Argentine starlet has been in negotiations with the Premier League club for the past few days as the two clubs have seemingly agreed on a transfer fee.

His brother Brian, posted on Twitter:

“Erik is in London. Yes, it is certain, we hope that everything will be completed in a few hours.”

The Roma fans will not be too pleased with the 21-year old’s departure and had made their displeasure clear at the team’s official presentation at the Stadio Olimpico.

‘On Behalf of Arsenal Football Club.’
