Ive managed about 5 days (so far) with basic shelter with a few standing fires, eating lizards and killing about 30 tribes people (or whatever they are) It now seems them dont attack and I can just chop them up with the fire axe.

My campsite is literally covered in body parts and a trap which they seem to just walk through

The AI seriously needs to be fixed - chopping down endless amounts of trees and hunting lizards is getting boring fast

There are definitely issues but then it is very much flagged as an alpha - plus I paid about £7.50 for my copy so I wasn't expecting too much!

It sounds like they're improving it all the time, for the moment anyway

For the £10 I paid, I feel it's come quite a way already with the community fed updates they are releaseing, how a alpha should be, and target dates for each update, not just released as and when they feel like it.

update is both good and bad.

the good - the lighting and the world looks much more natural and atmospheric IMO

the bad - my crossfire setup is now screwed. With it enabled I get horrendous texture and graphics flicker. Can disable it but running only one card, fps is down in the 40s maxed out which is poop

Another small update.

Hey Everyone,

Here’s a small performance hotfix. We’ve added an option to disable skylighting occlusion as it was causing performance issues on some PC’s and also added more terrain rendering options to help speed up performance on slower cards.

Added graphics options for ambient Skylighting (will be off by default)
Terrain settings added to graphics options (Parallax, Relief, Simple, Classic)
Fixed grass distance not changing correctly for different quality levels
Optimized greeble physics use
Optimized sound detect system on player weapons (less colliders)
Fixed issue with shadows light leaking
Fixed plant rendering glitches
Fixed missing small rock pickup
Fixed issue where plant triggers would sometimes make book items impossible to click
Fixed bug where houseboat blueprint wouldn’t appear or couldn’t be placed in world
Fixed held arms/heads registering attack even if not swinging
Held arms/legs behave like axes not sticks
Tennis balls no longer infinitely bounce
Fixed Player sometimes being killed in one hit by enemies
More Accurate player fall damage

Hidden new features:

You can remove placed blueprints by pressing C
You can press space to skip opening plane crash

I keep dying at the moment.

What do I need to keep those odd people away at night?
Just fire? A wall surround and a fire or what?

In fact is there any video about the basics? What's all the life bars mean and everything else.

You need one of the effergies (heads and legs of the things that keep killing you). Once you light them at night they won't bother you.

Just got this today and for such an early Alpha I have to say it's pretty good.

I have one main issue though. Now it runs brilliant and all but my GPU is hitting 80c, and I am not to happy with that to be honest. I have read that other people are experiencing this also but haven't found anything that can help the situation as of yet.

I know because it is in Alpha there will probably be optimisations to come at some point but I am not prepared to melt my GPU for the sake of one game. I mean, I can play anything else at high+ settings and barely see my GPU go over 50c.

So I think I will hold off for now on this little gem until something is done in this section of the game. Which is a shame because from what I have played. I have enjoyed.

Had a little play of this on a friends computer, looks like it could turn out really good considering its in alpha at the moment.
Really like the atmosphere, at night its very creepy.

I also found out that you can type "veganmode" on main menu and it goes all peaceful if you just want to build :).

Use MSi Afterburner and make a custom file profile? Why all the drama about GPU temperature?

No drama. Just saying that I'm not going to burn a £200 card out on a £6.50 game...

And I have EVGA precision running but I have found there is a bug that if say i set 50% fan speed the temps seem to match it (And i don't care for MSI Afterburner tbh). Works great on every single game i have except this on auto fan speeds.

Thanks, now I'm bored. There's not a lot to build. Got plenty of fish, found the spear and a fishing spot. So that's food sorted. Other than just building walls and stuff for the sake off it(found the modern axe on the boat as well), there's not much to do.
How do you craft? And is there anything worth crafting?
Can you kill turtles. So many walking around my house.
