Nvidia really neutered the 1070, disappointing.
It reflects its price really. It was never going to be as close to the 1080 as the 970 was to the 980, as there's a chasm between their price points by comparison. 980 Ti(ish) performance for ~£350 isn't a bad deal though, especially when you consider the extra VRAM, better DX12 performance and significantly lower power draw.

Lets be honest you were gonna say that regardless based on the pascal bitterness that is your comment history

If you actually read the reviews it shows very good performance for a much cheaper price

Stock 1070@1886(max boost clock) vs Stock 980ti@1189(max boost) go neck a neck.
Though typical 980ti should have at least 300mhz OC reserve from 1189, 1070 on the other hand more like - 150.
Now is all about the Benjamins baby

This will be the card for me. Of course there will always be people moaning, saying they're disappointed and will be sticking with their GTX980 Ti (what idiot would want to upgrade to anything other than a Ti from that card, I don't know)

But at the end of the day it's an upgrade that will take me from 30-40 fps on a 970 1440p max settings to 60+FPS. That's exactly what I was looking for, and it's at a good price relative to performance too. It should cost me around £150 after factoring in selling my 970, which isn't bad for a years usage of that card at 1080p

I am interested in whether AIB cards like the FTW will bypass the 112% power limit though

Looking good. Quite a bit faster than the 980ti in dx12 which looks promising. Almost as quick as the Fury X in hitman for example.

Any idea when the aib cards will be available for the gtx 1070? 1080 is too expensive but 1070 Looks like a good upgrade from a 780 still.

I can't wait for release, I'm currently stuck using a r9 270x, the 1070 is about a 70% graphical boost for me!!! (I might by a 2nd hand 980ti though if the prices drop to £300 area)
