That's weird, my CPU score is 8.6% higher than yours? Have you got EXPO on, virtualisation & memory integrity off, VRR off, etc?

The RX 7900 GRE - A strangely flawed product?

Interesting price point, wonder what the UK price will be? It's already appeared on a UK store for £650 a week or so ago. Be interesting to see if it gets the u.s. price that's meant to be 549 shortly.

The GRE is too expensive (for me) and the 7800XT is too close to the GRE in price. The 7600XT has the VRAM but limited by the core plus the price is too close to the 7700XT. Pricing better setting so I can get a shiny new card and not feel cheated by the price.

I just bought a Gre coming from a 6700xt so i think it was worth it for me as i was thinking of getting a 7800xt but overall it was not a big enough jump for the money and the 7900xt was too expensive

Yeah its a good card and not too far in performance from the 7800 XT, but its that 12GB thing, nothing 12GB should cost more than £350 IMO.

On another note...
There is a Gigabyte 7700 XT on preorder for £420, the 7700 XT Pulse is still £450, the 7800 XT Pulse is £480, £30 more.
I'm guessing they still have stock at the original £450.

I hope AMD / Nvidia have learned that anything less than 16GB is just not selling for midrange money, people don't want them at all unless they are lower mid range money.

I think AMD will be launching RDNA 4 late this year, not sure about Nvidia.

For sure if there is nothing worth buying wait, no matter how _____ it is with enough generational gaps its bound to be worth it at some point, i hope i don't eat my own words there

No it was a Sapphire Nitro+ which is a very good card and i was 50/50 about replacing it

Enjoy mate. The nitro cards are sweet to look at and have a good enthusiast gaming experience with. I had a 6800xt Nitro way back in 2020 but went on a merry go round of GPUs to end up back at same performance with a 7800xt recently. Enough of that!

Has anyone disabled MPO on windows 11? I’ve done it only because I was led to believe it would be better for stability but does it have any drawbacks eg for fps etc?

Both GRE and 7800xt will have a similar longevity at 1440p so it boils down to budget and whether another £50 is worth pushing the boat out for 10-15% more performance.

I’m not seeing the requirements go up dramatically in this console generation maybe PS6 in 2027 will push our cards to the brink and require upgrade I’m not sure.

16gb fine now maybe the new minimum in 3 years?
