Some people have to work outside and so need to use it. Should be VAT free imo, It's expensive enough as it is.

We get it supplied, and I'm sure you could claim it back if self employed.
Lots of vat stuff doesn't make sense. There's a fair few stuff that should be vat free and theirs other things that shouldn't.

No I'm not, at all. Don't be so facetious.

The heaviness of a pair of spectacles doesn't come from the frame, it comes from the lenses, and these days lenses are so light it's a moot point. Fancy frames are a luxury and should be taxed as such.

Of which you have to get thinned unless you want milk bottles on your face. Which is a huge part of the cost of a pair of glasses.

Are you honestly just trolling? I don't know anyone who wears glasses because they enjoy it, its the absolute bane of my life and I loathe it. I take it you don't wear glasses?

I knew a guy who started wearing glasses, it was 8 months before he left them on the side and we tried them on. As we suspected, clear frames. He soon stopped wearing them after his 'fashion statement' was discovered (and promptly mocked).
