Im quite looking forward to Paradise. I bought Burnout 3 on release and ended up hating it, naturally i dismissed Revenge on release but I managed to pick it up off MM for 14 squid and love it. The open world in paradise should really bring something new to the series.

That's a bit rich, considering that Max Payne was a bit of a "John Woo rip off" in the first place.

possibly, but max payne in the game format came first which is what matters.

Max payne also had that story board which was stunning i thought, this isn't a bad remake but not really anything new.

Burnout 3 was harder IMHO due to the lack of ability to traffic check, which made it somewhat easier to blaze down a busy road at 209mph. Never did complete Burnout 3, as I didn't own my Xbox for long before putting it in the family room, modded up. Never get a chance to use it now!

Possibly but the games on the wii are a bit silly when you are 20.

What rubbish.

I have regular Wii sessions with friends and the youngest of us is 27! The other week I took part in an extremely funny Wii Sports session with my gfs mum - it was her 54th birthday and she had asked for a Wii. The average age in the room was probably over 40 and it was one of the most laugh out loud enjoyable gaming sessions i've had in over 20 years of gaming. The pc may be better for playing on your tod like a Billy no mates, get some friends round and the Wii slaughters it.

As for the other consoles, my 360 gets most playtime - lots of Live gaming - and the PS3 gets used for Blu-rays. I haven't found much worth playing on it so far, but there's plenty on the horizon that looks decent. My pc is used for browsing and not a lot else as, gaming wise, the scene has absolutely dire for the last 3-4 years. However, I do plan to upgrade for TF2 if it turns out to be a decent clan game.

I don't always game when i have friends around and i dont game with 40 year olds as well:rolleyes:

I'm glad you enjoy it though but seems silly to me having controllers around.

You mention this as if it's a bad thing. I very rarely game with 40 year olds - occasionally with mine and my gfs mum and dad and some of their friends if they happen to be around. However, it's a testament to how good the Wii is as not only are they interested in playing, they're having as much fun as everyone else.

Anyone who suggests the Wii is a kids console is talking complete rubbish. Amusingly so, infact, as many of them also seem think that sitting alone and playing army man on the pc is 'grown up' gaming. Pow, pow, headshot, booom!!

Most idiotic crap I've read EVER.

Stop trying to justify your purchase by slating PC's.
On a tangent though, I think Warhawk absolutely stomps on the jerkwad/lagfest that is Battlefield 2/2142.

Lagfest? I'm sorry...what?

64/64 player servers, 27 ping, enough said..

I'd agree if you was talking about a console version because console games lack lag free servers on the majority of large scale games.

 Warhawk is aweomeness sent from the gods themselves. This is something you wont get on a pc.

RE is Resident Evil. You need to play the fourth game. Get the Wii one if you can. RE4 is out on PS2 as well.

Highly recommend RE4 and WH. WH is download only right now about 800MB.

I own all 3 current gen consoles. I also own RE4 (great game, not a staple sony franchise as the 360/Wii seem to be the consoles of choice for this) and warhawk (Good game, good fun, very overrated as it seems PS3 fanboys are desperate for a great game so jump on the praise wagon for the first good game to come along).

Have your pathetic rolleyes back :)

The PS3 has been out 12 months almost, still nothing out. Multi-format games have all been inferior bar DiRT, all current multi-format games are being delayed on PS3 over Xbox360 or Wii. I am a massive fan of the console itself, but it's the games that make the console and it's really poor in that regard. As for the Xbox360 not having games, 4 months in it had some blinding titles. It had PGR3 and CoD2 on launch day, both of which were exceptional titles, Oblivion, Burnout and some others in April. By August it had TDU and Dead Rising.
Whilst PS3 will get some great games, the ones we were expecting to be the 'big' games we've been waiting for have turned out to be just as poor as everything else (Lair and Heavenly Sword).

To be fair its only been released world wide 5 months, before then it was still quite an unknown quantity outside Japan (and even there Sony havent had stellar sales). Europe had caught up in the sales with the US before the recent $ price cut and now the ps3 is selling better over there the majority of companies that own said studios (the few that arent owned or controlled by MS) will have more of an interest.

I dont personally buy it that games make this console - in the past maybe, but its much more multimedia based than games anyway imo, Im sure GT5 prologue will shift a load of consoles before Xmas, but I still think in the long term it will be more multimedia entertainment.

Of the titles you mentioned for theX360, CoD2 -Oblivion and Burnout were all PC games originally anyway.

I also seem to recall that it took devs a very long time to get anywhere near the best out of PS2 - for some reason MS's consoles are usually easier to program for (XB1 was really just a pc , so no reason why that would be struggle anyway)

Also people in general need to consider that yeah maybe with an additional outlay of £150, people can play BR's on their pc.....IF they have a top end card, purchase specific HD playing software, get all the drivers and other software working togetehr and hope your CPU can handle it all, and then play it on a smaller monitor than you probably have as a tv (as very few people have a pc connected to their tv) by the time you have done that you have probably paid out more than £400 anyway.......but hey lets not get in the way of some good Sony bashing, PS3's still a waste of money :D

PC can do play bluray:p
lol your question was what can the ps3 do better? the answer: play blurays.

I love irony.
it certainly does sound ironic when you quote it out of context.

idiotic crap? he might be a little extreme but he has a point. its nothing but a pain in the arse playing hd-dvd's and blurays on the pc. the ps3 stomps al over it for simplicity and everything else. so much so that i just dont bother playing them on the pc. for the time being, for me, worthless.

He said they can't play it, but yes they can and it's fine.

It's not a pain in the arse at all, pop in the film and play it, hard? No.

its nothing like that at all. how many hd-dvd's and blurays have you actually tried to play? some dont play, some do but with no sound. you cant using digital outputs in vista because of the silly DRM issues. the list of niggles and faults is numerous so im interested, just what is your experience with hd material on the pc?

jesus are we all school kids again? so much aggression from some of you guys. nobody, nobody can seriously deny that it isnt far easier and hassle free using a stand alone player, or something like a ps3.

Being out for 5 months worldwide is nonsense, firstly because America and Japan have had it for almost 12. Then on top of that, Xbox360 was out a year before that, so PS3 games were in development then as well.
We're talking 2 years of 'next-gen' gaming and there still isn't anything on it that blows anyone away.

Games are also region free, so even having Europe as being out for 5 months is a moot point.

I dont personally buy it that games make this console - in the past maybe, but its much more multimedia based than games anyway imo, Im sure GT5 prologue will shift a load of consoles before Xmas, but I still think in the long term it will be more multimedia entertainment.
It's a games console, I bet you it's atleast 8/1 people buy it as a console than a 'multi-media' device, at least primarily anyway. If you took the games away from PS3 do you think it would sell? It wouldn't. If you took Blu-Ray/Media away from PS3 would it sell? Yes.

Of the titles you mentioned for theX360, CoD2 -Oblivion and Burnout were all PC games originally anyway.
Wrong. Burnout has never been on PC. Call of Duty 2 was, but then bettered on Xbox360 and Oblivion was made for Xbox360 and PC simultaneously.

I also seem to recall that it took devs a very long time to get anywhere near the best out of PS2 - for some reason MS's consoles are usually easier to program for (XB1 was really just a pc , so no reason why that would be struggle anyway)
Again, you're talking about the past. This is now, Microsoft have money, more than Sony. Sony have given a MASSIVE leap to a company that from day 1 delivered quality games on the Xbox360 and are still pumping out better games as of last week (Bioshock). Because Sony came from behind last time doesn't mean they will this time.

I don't own one yet as I'm not fussed for 'HD' films at all atm.

My friend uses the 360 HD-DVD player on his PC and I've watched 2-3 films on it (and some of Heroes season 1) and there's no problems so far, ain't heard any complaints from him either.
He hasn't slated PC's, in fact, if you read the thread you'd see he's praised them.
Saying the PC can't play HD-DVD/Blu-Ray because of the lack of uncompressed PCM 7.1 or whatever is pretty much slating.
