Sega Rally Revo PC

Some shops break the NDA, but you dont blab about it or they get in trouble then you wont get again (so I wont disclose them), I get all my games from a store in EU and they normally send early incase of delay and It wont arrive in time for official release.

They have dealt with me for years now (I admit I dont buy all my software nor does anyone with half a brain) but they seem to have gotten this well early.

@ian flowers, I dont think PC gamming is going bad, just some lazy Game Dev's port bad PC games instead of doing a good job as they want it fast out the door.

I have the new Nvidia Beta Drivers but no go yet.

What annoys me with sega rally is the graphics are nothing to shout about and its only an arcade game.
The game is worse now than when it was on the dreamcast.
I am using a 7800gtx card and it will run most games very well but with sega rally its just awfull

Your totally wrong. It must be your drivers or somthing else which is causing this. I've just had a quick go on this

Running everything cranked up

8xQ AA
1680x1050
16xAF

Pretty must 80-90FPS Average

Plus the graphics configuration is quite nice. Very arcadey I love it, reminds me very much of playing the old version on the Dreamcast back in the day :D.

Tom m8, how can I be right or wrong, its all I can add from my own experience on the game. :( (BTW the 4GB Ram aint in PC yet arrives Tues)

I had the Latest Nvidia Final driver, then the new Beta, the game runs crap at all RES down to 1024x768, I dont have a clue why.

If you can input more please do.

@ YoungBlood, Yes you can play online, the game actually asks you if it can make a exeption in your FW during install which i though was good touch. :)

Graphics aint supposed to be OMG WOW. It's an arcade game always has been grew up with Sega, Im in my element with this :D

Tom was that in XP or Vista?

XP

Im going to try 16xAA as that should perform around the same as 8xMSAA

Excellent news Tom, XP here also so you have raised my spirits. It's nice to see someone else understands how Sega Rally is supposed to look feel and play. If you have not grew up with it you just won't get it. It's not your average racer it's "special" :p

So you guys have the game, how about posting up some screens with fraps running to give us some kind of idea what the visuals are like on the PC with AA and all that jazz on.

The game does seem very optimised, the graphics configuration is also very tweakable breath of fresh air tbh. Sega came up trumps :D

Think we will see a demo before release? One game i'm looking fwd to a lot so hoping we will get one!
Anyone got an idea of rec. spec for this game?

Not sure if there is a PC demo planned before release, although may be one shortly after.. Thats not official but afaik the demos were only planned for 360 and PS3.

Does it have ghost cars? any sign of any sort of worldwide leaderboard ingame, might not be live yet as it's still early.

Oh and I look forward to a good mutiplayer thrashing of this with anyone thats intrested, hopefully have a copy before friday.

If they have hidden the Desert track from Sega Rally 1 in there somewhere, I think I will let out a manly cry.

Im in Vista64, Im running stock now and get higher frames, i think its 1 or 2 things.

I have my Nvidia driver always set to High Quality (default is Quality) and Super AA on.

I ran with both at default and fine, now I try 1 setting at a time, and find issue, it could be the Multi Sampling setting in games menu is messing with my manually set Super Sampling AA.

Yes thats issue, DO NOT set Nvidia driver to have Super AA on as the games actual menu has Muli Sampling AA settings and it conflicts even if you do not use and opt for the settings above it, you can set the Nvidia driver to Multi AA with no harm though.

I ran stock with no OC and it was 13FPS with that issue and 50-70FPS AVG without that issue all @ 1600x1200 and settings at MAX (well think its MAX as there are some settings Im unsure of, tried both ways and same FPS).

Now to try edit game for 1920x1440 :).

Hope this helps others who may come across same issue.

Well from screenshots is certainly does not dissapoint, any news on ghost cars, can you race against your best time as a ghost?
Are you using a gamepad? from Helmut's grab I see a controller config page, so PS2 pads etc are a go go I assume.

Oh and thanks for the shots Tom, I know it's time consuming so thanks for taking the time to up them.

Ohh pretty. :)

I hear its arcade but has sim stuff under the hood, how arcady and how sim is it?

Tbh i been sick of realistic games and been dying to play a good old fun arcade game like this, as i loved em when at the arcades at seaburn when i was younger.
