Gametrailers Halo 3 Review is up!!

Erm, yes, I've been playing an 'Argos special' ;)

To be fair I haven't actually completed it yet, but it doesn't seem to be improving the further I get in the game :(

I think the only thing that might let me down abit is the lack of new ideas with multiplayer. But can't say too much yet as haven't played it. The review did give alittle too much away to the storyline.. too many cutscenes!

Havin said all that I am hyped up about playing it :D

From what I can see, Halo 3 is more Halo. If that is what you want then you are sorted. If you want a much more involved single player experience, then you might be disapointed. However, it is the same with the previous Halo games, and each to their own.

Besides, the idea of arguing which 360 game, Bioshock or Halo 3 deserves a 10/10 is kinda silly. I mean, the pain!

I really can't get hyped about Halo, probably because I have NEVER played a HALO game. From an outsider looking in watching and reading reviews it looks like an incremental improvement over the previous game.

Funny one to rate really. Lets say Halo 2 got 9.5/10 previously and is an improvement over it, so should it get 9.6? In my opinion it should get less as (from what I have read) its not as ground breaking as the original.

If someone wants to send me a copy to indoctrinate me into the Halo universe however, feel free :D

Dude, don't say that! It's probably the first game I've really been looking forward to since BF2 and I thought I'd grown out of gaming once the Amiga scene died!

Did you like the previous Halo titles? If the answer is yes you probably wont be dissapointed :)

seriously - guys, do you need a review to tell you halo 3 is gonna be the dogs danglies? lol :p

avoid all reviews and stuff until after youve played it to avoid seeing and hearing about things that may potentially ruin the game for you! :D

Same can be said for most games i think!
Some people don't want to admit it, but multiplayer is the way to go, in the very simple respect that a game with very good multiplayer is much better value than a game with very good singleplayer and no multiplayer. Unless you have some fetish about completing games 100x over =/

What?

equipment!
4 player co-op!
forge!
saved replays with awesome video editor!
plenty of new vehicles and weapons!

Its full of new stuff, no-one can complain there isn't new ideas.

Not everybody wants to play online tho'.

Thankfully, the reviews seem to like Halo 3's Single Player as well. The ony thing against it is, it's more of the same, which is hardly a major complaint.

Pre-ordered it today, might aswell go for the launch opening at the shop aswell tomorrow night.

If I don't like it or don't touch the multiplayer i can always go and trade it in for Skate on Friday. (I can't afford both)

For all the doubters:

What the media are saying about Halo 3

* Gamepro 100/100 - "It's solid gameplay, immense replayability, online functionality and incredible production values will ensure its place in video game history, and it is, without a doubt, a satisfying and fulfilling close to the beloved trilogy."

* 1UP.com 100/100 - "It's hard to imagine a feature of this game that someone won't love... Sure, no one aspect of the game is life-changing on its own, but perhaps the package as a whole is. After all, Halo 3 has enough content to keep you stuck to your controller for weeks, if not months or even years."

* IGN 95/100 - "The campaign, which is very good, is Halo 3's weakest point. It doesn't capture the cavalier spirit of the original Halo, but you'll still have fun playing through it. There's no first-person shooter on 360 that can equal Halo 3's blend of cinematic action, adrenaline-pumping shootouts, and male- (and female)-bonding gameplay. Look beyond the gameplay and you have a rich feature set unlike anything ever delivered in a videogame."

* Gamespot 95/100 - "It's the addition of the Forge level editor and the saved films that give the game an even longer set of legs, legs that will probably keep you running at full speed until Bungie figures out where, exactly, to go from here."

Cheers,
Hugest
