2007 Japanese GP - Race 15/17

Ok so I have a conspiracy theory about the Ferraris today, which goes like this:-

When Kimi was coming through the pack and got up to 4th, they suddenly decided that Massa needed another pit stop, does anyone think that they did it on purpose because team orders arent allowed, so they could get Kimi past him and onto the podium.

Am just suprised no ones mentioned it so far. It just seemed a bit odd that they wouldnt have worked out all the fuel strategies to then suddenly decide that he didnt have enough fuel when Kimi managed to get himself up the field as he did.

Well apparently the donkeys were the only people in the pit lane not told they had to use wet tyres, poor donkeys, everyone's against them

Its just possible that when they fuelled Massa during the safety car at the start that they put as much fuel in as was possible and it just wasn't enough.

Yet they refuelled Kimi what, two laps later, and he had enough?

You see, there you go again, poor donkeys, give them the wdc as well

Oh wasn't a team penalised at the Hungarian gp for impeding a driver in some way

Just watching the recording I made of it live last night.

Just seen the bit where Alonso stacks it and only *one* McLaren pit crew guy puts his hands on his head - and even that was delayed and looked fake :p:D RD a few minutes later didn't look too bothered either, chatting away and having a big swig of water :D

I did say it was only a conspiracy theory, and my dislike of Ferarri has nothing to do with it honest! :D

I've just finished watching the recording. An awesome, awesome drive by Hamilton.
Raikkonen was supreme at the end as well.

Some class quotes kicking around about the tyre confuffle

"The message reached the other ten teams," Haug, competition director for McLaren's engine and equity partner Mercedes, told German television.

Referring almost certainly to the recent espionage scandal - a bitter conflict that cost McLaren $100m and expulsion from the constructors' championship - he added: "There have already been punishments with even less proof.

"Ferrari always excite themselves when they do not win," said the German. "That is not new," he told the broadcaster RTL.

Haug refused to speculate as to how the FIA stewards' email about the rule change only arrived in sporting boss Stefano Domenicali's laptop inbox nearly 90 minutes late.

"I am not the Ferrari press person - I have no idea what they were doing at noon," he added.

Raikkonen's race engineer Chris Dyer reportedly used even harsher language in a post-race television interview.

Apparently, the Australian said FIA race control ‘****ed our race’ before he was stopped by a Ferrari PR representative.

Rerun just started on ITV1, though I'm sure they're going to cut bits since its scheduled to end at 1:30 for the rugby.

edit: they've chopped 15 laps of safety car laps.

Yeah I cant work it out either, the race was virtually dead on 2 hours.

Edit, they just cut a load of laps out.

Ignoring Hungary last year Button always qualifies high up when it's wet and then throws it away in the race by going off the road.

Rain is quite a leveller and suits Jensons style more.
Could be interesting next year if Honda can get their act together and TC being banned.
