if its true i was ripped of my money  should went for gtx. is this think that bad edit: ?

Do you think it's bad? I do, question is do you?

8800 SUCKS

We will see in dx10 mark mine words. no idea how gtx does it on dx9 as it has everything less then xt but xt will get back on it at dx10 i hope  anyway should not move away from the topic

the 1 gig is still cheaper then gtx has faster ram better for dx10 more shader power mine opinion

You wont get anywere near enough for it to get a 9800GTX when they come out, no noob will be able to fall for a £200 price tag on em.

ATi cant afford to get Crysis for example wrong so I'm pretty certain that the drivers released when the game in question comes out we will see vast improvements in Direct X 10 performance!

Ok its a total hope since I have a 2900pro but still  I do find the Direct x 9 performance to be fantastic and obviously direct x 10 leaves a lot to be desired! I have some faith they will sort it out especially for a big release like Crysis!

....awaits Mav saying "no chance" lol :p

If I had a 2900xt and never had an 8800, I may actually of been ok with it, but its because I had a GTS and the performance is so low compared to it, I mean with 4xAA/0AF all max at 1680x1050 Sega Rally is smooth as apart from the weird stuttering, some people would class that as fantastic DX9 performance.

God, sell up already, my heads done in with you in every other thread moaning on and on about your 2900 woes, i bet your the kind of guy that sits there with fraps on, more concerned if he loses a few frames to a GTS rather than enjoying the game. I on the other hand am more than pleased with DX9 performance and as all current DX10 titles are crap, ill leave judgment on 2900 DX10 performance when crysis hits. Sega rally sucks melons so i couldn't give a rats scrotum if it ran at 6fps on a 2900.

^I smell fanboi :).

Saying all dx10 titles are crap is very harsh, Bioshock and CoH are both superb games, 2 of the best newer games.
Sega rally isn't very good imo either, but it doesn't suck, it actually looks very nice, the controlls are just bad imo.

I actually DONT run fraps, you sound like a fanboy tbh, I've had a 8800GTS, I've had a 2900XT, I know which is the better card, if I see someone asking which one they should get, I'll recommend the 8800GTS, If I see something about the 2900, if I have something positive to say, I will, if I have something negetive to say about it, I will, I dont constantly complain, I am not complaining about MY card, when I say which is the better card I'm talking about mainly all cards, the series.

I think you would be quite bothered if Sega Rally ran at 6fps on a 2900, those low fps would reflect on other games if it was not a driver bug.

If you dont like what I say then dont respond to me, its that simple, try to control your fingers :)

Hit the nail on the head exactly what I was thinking. If this is the case then moe fool him TBFH. Also Snowdog don't start playing the "fanboi" card.

Perhaps you could provide links for this? As far as I'm aware, nvidia use hardware AA because it's faster, not because they're missing any functionality. I suspect that what you are alluding to is ATI's use of shader based AA in place of hardware AA. This was ATI's choice. It was not mandated by DX10. As far as I know nvidia does shader AA just fine too. It's a standard part of DX10. Nvidia chose to support both software and hardware AA. ATI only do software.

I know that nvidia complained about Call of Juarez using shader AA, but I believe that they actually run it just fine and benchmarks suggest that performance isn't an issue. I think their complaint was simply that it would run even faster with hardware AA (although it's a separate argument whether this would have affected image quality).

Shader AA is the DX10 spec.

Lets see, out of all the peps on this forum with a 2900pro/xt, we have just the one that goes on and on about performance of the card and how it sucks, i don't care if you had a GTS, what did you play on it, TDU and lost planet, wide range of game their to compare to, ill give you £80 for you card and ill give it a good home in a well optimised and configured system not touched by melons;)JK

WIC and COH are good games in DX9 but DX10 they just seem to be really poorly optimised and that why IMO they are crap in DX10, now if crysis performs like a blind doctor doing a circumcision, on a 2900 after driver updates, then fine it sucks in DX10, lets move on.

He's used to be even worse. It's true Will is spending more time in each game worrying if performance is right and worrying if its a few fps out on the GTS. than actually enjoying the damn thing. To the point where It's pointless him having it at all since he does his own head in about it and every buggar elses. I reckon it's time for a new addition to the ignore list.

WIC
CoH
Lost Planet
TDU
Oblivion
HL2
CSS
GTA Series
UT2004
QW:ET
F.E.A.R
F.E.A.R XP

and lots more games I had both running on....

So I'm not a fanboy, if I was a fanboy I would have stuck to the NV would I not?

I dont play anything in DX10.

Also, I know when a game drops below 30fps and I dont like it, maybe tom you are happy with gaming at 30fps but I aint.

i cant believe how can hd2900 be so behind gtx :( thats insane im sad edit: maybe its just software drivers ?

I always thought the arguements for months was whether the 2900xt or 8800 GTS 640Mb was quicker. Never thought the 2900xt competed with the 8800GTX/Ultra since it's priced to compete with a 8800 GTS.
