PGR4 Demo on XBL???

its just the same over and over though.

I totally dissagree, it has the most variety of any racing game I've played. Loads of different disciplines, huge variety of weather, loads of different cars and tracks, the motorbikes......

Infact, the only thing that is 'the same over and over' is the fact that you are driving a car/bike around a track. Driving games do tend to invole ...erm... driving you know ;)

even the old tracks seem different, i think the handling has deffo been improved and weather effects come into effect greatly. Had my 1st go online last night, was surprised that some events had just your car and the others as ghost cars doing hot laps and the likes. Then played an eliminator race where all cars where actually playing and some git wiped me out on the starting line and put me in last, but never the less victory was mine when i just followed the pack watching them all take each other out and claimed 1st place and victory!

Have to say im loving this demo im no where near as good as most the people playing it but its so much fun, the weather effects are awsome especially with the standing water and snow.

For me this has to be the best racing demo ive seen on live and if a certain local rental store releases it at £34.99 im going to be very tempted.;)

Played this for half an hour last night and loved it.

Is this game running at 60fps? it deffo feels smoother than PGR3.

You can tell the driving handling has changed completely, my old driving style just doesn't work anymore (banging it down a gear or 2 before a corner) and the car goes all over the shop, this game actually requires you to DRIVE :D

Love doing the powerslides, the one on one with the motorbike in the rain was interesting! :D I won by about 3 seconds, but only got the bike on the final straight, had a go of a bike and I think I'll get used to it in time but will be a lot easier with the steering wheel, without a doubt!

So thumbs up from me, if I'm on live tonight I'll see who else is interested and see if we can get an eliminator going.

hmm, just played it and I think PGR3 seems better, of course I'm always like this with the new iteration of a game. I don't like the bikes but I do like the fact they are included, could be a right laugh on XBL. Think I'l pick it up of the MM in a few months

awesome game, awesome, awesome awesome awesome.

Sums it up nicely to be fair :D

After I've mastered Sega Rally I will definately buy this game. I am finding i'm nowhere near aggressive enough though. I drive it like I would have Forza and am lifting way to early.

Haven't even tried the bikes. Its a step up from the last one in the right direction. Isn't this the last Pgr?

TBH i didnt like PGR3 myself very much...didnt really bother with it tbh although i still have a copy of it that i got with my wireless wheel but it hasnt been touched. Downloaded this the other day and had a play with it tonight and have to say i quite like it for some odd reason. Love the bikes although not fond of their handling...but i do like the lambo concept m though...lovely car along with the ferrari.

Sounds great as well especially through the tunnels and i thought the weather effects on the demo were pretty good...at one point doing the fog race, i couldnt really see what was ahead of me.

My copy has been shipped out so no doubt ill be playing it but as i said i quite like it..definitely prefer it over PGR3 although both are virtually the same bar a few differences.

Nope it's not and it's kinda worrying that you can't tell the difference, at this rate 30fps will become the new standard if it's not already.

Still, it's actually high definition now (720P) and they even added 2x FSAA.

Shame it's just a regurgitated PGR3 with bikes and puddles. ;)

I'm hoping to get this on Friday, I love the soundtrack on the demo, that Maximo Park song is great, not even a fan but that songs perfect!

It's a rock-solid 30fps though without any dips in the framerate, and as such it feels very smooth. Give me PGR4's stunning visuals and a rock-solid 30fps over bland visuals and 60fps any day of the week.

Sure, it would be nice to have both but the reality is that the current generation of consoles has to compromise.

Yep, I much prefer PGR4 to Forza, also on PGR4 it actually felt like you was going fast, unlike Forza 2.

Pretty funny coming from Mr. PS3 I must say.

Can't believe they appear to have botched the in-car views compared to PGR3.

Ferrari seat is too low, and the Elise is too high. I hope it's just a demo issue, but I'm not 100% convinced it will be. If it isn't, then I'd love to see it patched / tweaked because as it stands I might give PGR4 a miss

Bonnet cam is an acceptable alternative I suppose, but no where near as immersive as the cockpit cam.

Had a very quick go on this last night and well, hated it. Driving felt awful, didn't think it looked particularly good either. Will give it a proper go at some point over the next few days, and its ages since Ive had Forza or PGR3 on but this just didn't impress me in the slightest.

Hoping its just because I was a bit tired when I put it on, but certainly isn't on my list to buy at the moment.
