Pro Evo Or Fifa?

I'll be getting PES2008, no doubt. I've probably played the demo 50 times and there's a lot of subtle improvements over PES6 which make it worthwhile. Player movement, passing, shooting, free kicks, dribbling, it all just seems that little bit sharper and it comes together to make it a better game. I didn't like the Fifa 08 demo that much, but given how many people seem to love it I won't be discounting it. I'm off next week so I may rent it and give it a proper whirl :)

I've too much time invested in Pro Evo to switch to FIFA now, but if I were coming to Pro Evo 2008 and FIFA '08 fresh, I'd probably say FIFA is the better game.

Yeah, I experienced the stuttering of the 360 demo, but put it down to the fact it was a demo.

My best mate, who's moved to Oz, has made up my mind for me as to which version to get by purchasing a PS3 at the weekend.

the 360 demo had serious slowdown issues and jerkyness.

So some people say, but i didnt experience any slow down at all, not during gameplay anyway.

I think this thread is hilarious, fifa fan boys this, pes fan boys that, "the fifa argument is well constructed, pes argument is drivel", blah blah blah, etc, etc

Why does everyone with an opinion have to be a fan boy? Everyones entitled to their opinion and allowed to enjoy whatever game they want for whatever reason, here's a clue, THERE'S NO RIGHT ANSWER, so stop bickering.

I'll be getting PES2008, no question.

When I first played the demo I hated it. I thought it was way to fast and a step backwards from PES6. But, as always with Pro Evo, I eventually learnt to love it. I now love the faster speed and better close control, it definitely feels like an improvement.

With all the people loving Fifa this time round I tried my best to like it. I played the demo numerous times but always found it too slow and unresponsive. As others have said, it feels like a chore to play at times. I find myself getting frustrated when the player I'm controlling doesn't turn or pass the ball quick enough. Where as in Pro Evo it's fast and responsive, players are quick to move and get the ball from their feet, more 'arcadey' if you like.

As always, though, Fifa excels over Pro Evo when it comes to presentation and graphics, but where the most important aspect is concerned (gameplay) Pro Evo again rises above Fifa, for me at least.

I must have a different demo to you, mine seems fine. But I remember thinking the same about other demos in the past, people complained about the Forza demo and I thought that was fine as well.

It's been hit and miss. I know myself and Dannyjo22 both had a lot of slowdown in the demo. A few others reported it too. Others said they haven't had any at all. It's an odd one.

PES2008 doesn't have slowdown for me, slow down I could deal with as nearly every versions had that around the box. No what the PES demo had for me was complete pauses during the action, hopefully thats just the demo having issues running off the hard drive or something.

If that issues fixed then PES will be a nice tonic for me in 6 months or so when it drops to a bargain price and I want to play chewing gum footie.
