can i ask... how would i know if i have this? i have the Q6600 but dont know if it is this version... i have standad air cooling, overclocked it to just below 3.0 and its running 30deg idle and 40 full load

depends if the game suports quad core

gut reaction is 3.0 dual for gaming

It wont say G0 on the box it will say SLACR on it.

Run CPUZ and that will say the revision, if its G0 or B3.

it says G0... now im confused, on CPU-Z, it says corespeed: 1600mhz and multiplyer 6.0... it should be 2400 and 9... is this right?

You have speedstep enabled. It will reduce the bus speed / core speed whilst the CPU is idle, to save on power and to lower the temperature. There is an option in your BIOS to turn this off (look for EIST & C1E).

what would you say i can set my FSB to, its 1333 at the moment, 3.0ghz
