Official Crysis Demo thread

Post your spec followed by what you think of the game! My spec is probably the worst in this thread:

Socket 939 Opteron 165 @ 2.4ghz, 4 x 512mb ram, DFI Ultra D, x800 GTO2 unlocked and clocked.

= .... FAIL ?? ;)

You should be able to play it, but it wont be smooth in fights and on the lowest settings.

Mines just crashed

Well I'm loving the game, the performance isn't great but I wasn't really expecting it to be, it's running at around 25fps (ish) for me with everything on medium (shaders on high, that's what the auto optimizing whats-it put it on) @ 1024x768 with 4xaa and 16xaf.

So not perfect but not the end of the world. I'm running it on 32-bit though, I seem to remember reading that 64-bit does improve performance in this game (no idea how much though, I'll have to get my vista x64 installed again).

It angers me to see so many dismissing it as a flop, getting all ready to light the torches.

We always knew anyway you cut this it would be a MAMMOTH to run, but even when you put that on the scales, crysis is still and awesome achievment, much like far cry before it.

That was a good solid year before any bugger had that running over 50+ frames.

The game is smooth even at mid 20s high 30s. Turn off your fps counter and you will be non the wiser imo. Using high here with some set to very high. Brilliant demo.

How would it be a mamoth to run, the Dev in a interview months ago said a 8600GTS can run it at high and if you want higher you need a better card (ie 8800's I would assume is what he meant).

So someone with a 3+GHZ CPU + 2-4GB RAM and a 8800GTX should be able to run it nicely, if not something has went seriously wrong with this games code.
