Hey guys, new here but been reading this forum for years (actually know a lot of you quite well via stalking your posts lmao)... anyway, thought I'd share a experience that was fun a while back.

About a year back was riding the 'fast and fun' way home on my old ZX12r and spotted a stickered up scooby and skyline together up ahead, now as dumb as it is to 'play' on the roads the dual carriage way was quite clear and thought I'd have some fun....

Approach them both and the scoob moves out the way, then up the back of the bright yellow skyline, instead of moving out the way as expected he floored it... with me behind in pursuit speed rose quite a lot, with each gear shift he spat flames at me lol.

Anyway, to my point of post, I could not overtake him once we were up to good speed... at least not easily reel him in like any other cars I've ever 'met'. We eventually both got stuck in traffic and I pulled in to have a word with the guy, he wound down in window and I yelled 'how much power has that thing got m8', he replied 'only road tune, about 700'

Bahh.... just my luck to pick on a 'sleeper skyline'. Tracked the guy down and it turns out the skyline was nicknamed 'The Lemon' and was often in 1000hp tune... respect due and a big eye opener to a biker who had always thought even fast cars were quite slow :-) (you can find 'the lemon' on google images)

Anyone else had any run ins with cars / bikes that had a few 'extras' ?, it's one hell of a shock I can tell ya...this car would have destroyed most bikes no problem at all.

ps: no small animals or children were injured in this story, roads where mentioned were of course private :)

seriously, the JUN hyper lemon is about as far removed from a 'sleeper' as it gets. :/

well it had a lot of stickers, but I just thought, uhhhh another 'oops I bumped into halfords' job :D

the thing accelerated and overtook like a bike..

Theres an orange skyline which is fairly fast, probably the same in power stakes as my remapped M5. I love skylines.
Every time I see it, the council van comments come out though.

I think someone needs to look up the definition of Sleeper becuase a bright yellow Nissan Skyline GT-R is not it :p

lmao, good point m8, but from a biker point of view he looked 'just' like a skyline. I wasn't expecting it to have that kind of power.

If a say hmhmhmhh, scooby had 800bhp, would it be a scooby sleeper ? :p:D

This is not my idea of a sleeper in my opinion Flukester. Something along the lines of 1989 Maroon Golf Ryder with 13in steelies on and maybe a turbo'd VR6 lump in it would be more fitting of the description than a bright Yellow, import Jap beast with stickers/graphics all over it and that spits flames at you on gearchange.

The Jun Skyline is defo quite fast lol.

I took this picture at this yrs TOTB :)

Other night on the way home from Reading, I was on the dual carriageway and what I thought to be a bog standard C Class pulled up next to me, practically begging me to race him, which I declined as I wasnt in the mood....he then proceeded to floor it away and at about 80mph it made me look like I was standing still making a roaring V8 noise. When we got to the lights I thought "right, now Im going to have a go" and booted it off the lights, I managed to get a good head start to about 60 (being 4WD I expect) and after that this thing just made me look like I was standing still. It was only as he was flying away I spotted the quad tail pipes and the words BRABUS on the back :o

My saxo aint bad, had a few people with a wtf look on their face especially the cocky rx8 driver flashing me to move over and I left it :)

Remember many years back when i had my Fiesta RS Turbo, took on an Austin Metro and got owned at every traffic light grandprix, not sure what lump was in it but it was horrendously quick.

A friend of mine has an evo with about 600bhp. It's ridiculously quick, but looks like a bog standard evo. Not necessarily a sleeper, but it's surprised a lot of people (quite a rare thing for something with that much power to reside on the emerald isle)...

Got suprised by a Girl driving a polo last night...I nearly pulled out infront of her at a junction... but she winked at me and carried on. I followed suit and she floored it on the dual carriageway and left me standing and we had a nice little bit of fun, before I finally got the better of her at the final roundabout ;)

I thought she had a 1.4 polo.. and it was some quickish polo GTI (02 plate)

All roads were private and nobody exceeded the speed limit in anyway

But REAL sleepers.. only 1... some old vauxhall nova which was chasing a caterham 7... the guy in the caterham pulled over a lane to left the nova past!!! :O

Basically, a guy in a RICA remapped v70 T5 baited me and went past me at a vast rate of knots. Not quite as fast as I think he'd hoped he might, but went past me he did. He gave a rather unfriendly hand gesture as he went past too, even though I was laughing like mad due to me liking quick Volvos. Luckily I got to catch up to him when I noticed he was selling his car on a Volvo forum, told him to be a bit more sporting next time ;)
