Glasses, do you wear them?

I was told when I had my eyes examined this summer that from about the age of 40 most men's eyesight has deteriorated enough to consider glasses. Also some other eye defects/diseases start from that age.
I only need them for reading small print.

As Already stated I know but I don't wanna become and airforce pilot for two reasons.

1. I enjoy Drinking copiously and smoking weed far too much

My eyes are both -8.5 which is pretty rare to be that blind at my age :|

I'm at a quite bad -4.5 in both

I wear them for driving, I'm not too short sighted but it's amazing how much difference they make.

I wear them because I'm short-sighted (genetic) but using a computer hasn't made them any worse, my prescription has changed about 1 in over 8 years.

My opticians told me that using PCs won't make your eyesight deteriorate (unless you have the top of your monitor above eye level and don't blink enough but then no one is that foolish) but the strain can emphasise any weaknesses in your eyes that you may not have noticed.

I take it i need glasses... for the pc and reading etc,

Nope, my eyesight is perfect still and I spend a lot of the time in front of the PC. College: PC course, home: I browse a lot, play games etc.

if you use a pc at work ( i hate that word ) you should be able to get a voucher to get a free eye test ( to you anyway) from your employer

The last time I went for an eye-test I went up to the girl behind the counter and said "Hi duck, I have an appointment to have my eyes tested", to which she replied "Yeah, but this is Butchers and my name is Dave"!

I started wearing glasses recently, because my long sight was shot after using the glasses its obvious now how bad my sight was lol, but i dont have any problem with monitors as i'm short sighted

Your glasses must be quite thick.
