"PC Games" Forum!

I really don't get the rivalry :/
It just seems so pathetic on both sides of things.
Just enjoy the games you have regardless of whether they're on a PC or a console, and who cares what other people think. You get to enjoy the games you enjoy, no point trying to go for oneupmanship, it's just childish.

Weren't they supposed to be games available on PC but not on console?

Maybe I should have listed every single game rather than "Series" for each?

Doom 1/2 etc, PC only.
Battlefield 1942/vietnam etc, PC only.
Quake 1,2,3, PC only.
Comand & Conquer red alert etc, PC only.
CoD1, PC only. Diddn't realise CoD2 was on console.
Unreal Tornament, what is there some kind of **** console version?
Prey on console? didn't know that either.
Half-Life 1 + expainsions, PC only.

Anyway we could go on listing all day, the point is PC has a "far broader and comprehensive selection of games".

I haven't had any major issues on my pc in ages as regards to crashing titles and them demanding a specific brand of card be used.
Patches tend to be released more regularly as well so any issues can be solved quickly. If that fails then head to the fantastic community that PC gamers have.

Head to head theres no contest graphically and control wise plus we can use the 360 pad now so platformers etc are just as playable on the PC. Cost becomes the only issue, but is that really an issue? if you can afford to have the best why not have it?
Most of us even have HDMI dongles now so we can plug right into the living room tv and have that sit on the couch experience. :)

I spend most of my time on consoles and in the console forum but PC gaming is recently drawing me back into it.

Pull the other one...I have played Forza 2. ;)

Live for Speed, Race 07, F1 Challenge (with current season updates etc), Richard Burns Rally...

LFS being the most notable - huge community and by far the best sim on any platform backed up by fantastic developers.

LFS fake cars and tracks and such a great sim you can use your mouse to drive LOL awesome, think I will pass, rFactor is way better, Forza 2 is quite a good sim if you use a wheel no doubt about it, but then again most real racers admit all these sims really are not all that close to the real thing, just an experience really. Even the release of GTR2 with its new tyre physics caused division in the community, many thought it was arcade, others thought it was closer to the real thing, so you can't really sit here and dictate what is sim and what is not, it's all personal preference from what you feel.

RBR is on Console too, and just as hard :)

F1 Challenge with new mods you think is a sim? some guy with no F1 experience sitting in notepad making the physics? oh ok then pull the other one :)

PC racing is the only reason I have a PC these days, it's the only game type that the PC does better than consoles that I enjoy playing, and that is mainly due to the mod community and better servers, if Forza 2 had dedi servers with more than 8 people then as a sim it would be up there with the PC games, and if they added about 40 new tracks :D

Doom is on the 360 arcade, Quake 3 TA is coming to the 360 arcade, the latest C&C is on the 360 and UTIII is coming to the 360/PS3.

~

2k are bringing the next Civilization game to the 360, The Witcher team have just hired some 360 programmers, Bioshock (360) was the in the spiritual sense part of the System Shock seies, there's a rumour that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is being ported to the 360, Quake Wars is coming to consoles, heck even the Sam and Max chapters are rumoured to be coming over as downloadable fun.

The PC has it's place and games like Eve Online could never be done on anything else but no one can really argue that the console isn't where it's currently at. PC gamers who easily dismiss the 360/PS3/Wii are if we're honest being a bit elitist. I like many on here was first and foremost a PC gamer who did dismiss consoles so I know what I'm talking about.

LFS has the best physics engine, and had tyre physics and deformation long before GTR2 was released...thems the facts.

Can you name a better F1 game? Its a toss up between challenge and GP4 with mods, there's no alternative...

No they are not fact's, it's your opinion, which many do not agree with, so how can it be a fact? Quite an arrogant attitude there, which seems fitting with most LFS fanboys, it's like a cult. Are you saying no other game had tyre physics? LOL so why you talking about F1C? ISI game engine which you LFS fans seem to like to hate so much :D

Well I haven't touched my 360 in ages, there's just nothing new or interesting on it. Yeah there's lots of games but they're all the same stuff we've had before really.

The only game I've been looking forward to on the 360 for as long as I can remember is Mass Effect. Everything else is just a bit 'meh' to be honest. Either that or it promised something new and was a let down (Assassins Creed anyone?) or it's one of those games that is better played on the PC (COD4, Bioshock...etc)

I only dismiss consoles that are pointless to me because I have a decent PC.

The PC has some fantastic games, The consoles have some fantastic games, you lot arguing over which is the best are worse than people arguing over the 360\ps3\wii

Get a grip lol

Heh when it comes to the fanboy wars, we always seem to have similar views :D

Hardly a fanboy, don't even play the game so much at the moment, since most of the OcUK team disappeared... :p

I tried to like rFactor, i bought the game, tried out the "best mods" - F1 CDTPFEDPD whatever its called, Megane Trophy, i like the fact thats its hugely modable, with hundreds of tracks available etc, but every time i played it i was just thinking "meh, these mods would be better on LFS.."

I just found the interface so clunky and so much more difficult to find a decent server than doing so on LFS.

Anyway, this is OT. So shush. :p

Seems very dull and boring in there, all wanting mass effect. and talk of assassins creed next year, oh how i love the fact us console gamers come first, we may not have crysis, but with mass effect on the verge! who cares?

Im glad i made the right choice!

-Neoni! - Happy xbox owner.

PC Games are just better. I've got both a PC and a 360, in the same room. The 360 is used for racing games and thats it. FPS games are just miles better on a proper PC. And as for C&C which someone mentioned above, really, it's nothing like as good on 360 as it is on a PC.

I'm not biased or a fanboy becuase like I said, I have both a 360 and a PC sat right beside each other. If the games on 360 were better, I'd play them instead.

As for 'you just stick a game in' - thats only a plus point if you are a retard becuase lets face it, installing PC Games is not rocket science.
