The Official Assassin's Creed Thread

woohoo, just did my first assassination, really ruined it by trying to use the hidden blade from in front of him, ended up having a blood bath with half a dozen soldiers. Did also kill my first Templer thou, saw him standing on the street when i was scaling the rooftops and dropped down and hidden blade him to his face ! lol

Anyone know how to drop from above but kinda jump and stab at the same time ?

Yeah gotta do the same as a normal hidden-blade assassination and run up to them holding down right trigger. Then u need to spam the X button for him to ram it down his neck in mid air.

Try locking onto him from above, and then dropping off the edge, and pressing X when close to him. That should do it for you. You might need to approach from the side as you won't be able to drop off the ledge behind him and look the right way.

I am thoroughly enjoying this game so far. I can see how it might get a bit repetitive, but I don't care. The sheer awesomeness of being free to do pretty much whatever I want to do does enough to squash any repetitiveness. I can go and do anything I please within reason. I can scale the wall of any building I can see in the city, and anything I can see in the distance exists in the game and I can run to it.

After all is said and done, you're an assassin and it makes sense that you would want to learn about your targets first before just rushing in blindly attacking them. That's what the side missions achieve, although I do agree that they could have varied it a bit more but no matter. The game just oozes pure coolness. It's like Splinter Cell, Ninja Gaiden and Prince of Persia all rolled into one, with a sprinkling of vast freedom, set during the Crusades. You don't get much cooler than that :)

Finished it. Damn those fights at the end were damn hard, they had me launching my pad at the pillows on my bed time and time again in blind frustration.

Most enjoyable singleplayer game I've played for a while, and managed to get it done in time to get it traded in for the big Mass Effect release on Friday :D

I just scaled possibly the largest in-game structure, which is a huge cathedral in Acre. What a rush that was, only to find a sodding templar on the roof. The view from the top spire was amazing. Felt queasy when I did the leap of faith though, as I hate heights :o

This game is more of a chor to complete than an enjoyable experience.

I mean it is good, but incredibly repetative and I'm just rushing through it so I can get it finished in time to trade towards Mass Effect :p

I climbed that, tried to get the flag on top of the cross but fell all the way to the ground which took quite a while and I screamed like a girl :o

That happpened to me too, you have to perch right at the top of the spiral on the cross but I fell :o Luckily the restart point after death was on the roof top nearby :)

I'm on the 4th mission are they all the same cause so far they have been

They are only the same if you play it the same. Try taking different routes, go in gung ho, sneak in from the rooftops, blend in with some scholars etc.

Ofcourse they are the damn same, they are ALL assassination missions. Some people are getting the wrong end of the stick with this game I feel.

I did that a few times with the circle fight. Must have died 20 times in that fight.

Funny thing is, everything after that was a cakewalk (as were the fights leading up to that).

I'm not feeling compelled to go back flag or Templar hunting, though I might do one of two of the assassinations again before it goes back.

Im not sure if this has been posted already but its useful if you're not entirely sure about the meaning of things you discover at the end of the game

It goes without saying that you shouldnt really read this if you havent completed the game already

Just finished AC this morning, i enjoyed it altough i did feel it was a bit bland on content and that they could have added a few things to make it a bit better like money, buyable equipment ane more indepth side quests. Apart from that i think i would give it 7/10

Also through the whole game i had no idea that you could pickpocket a thug to resuply your self with throwing knives until when i died near the end the computer said i could

'Oh now you tell me' :o

Any chance of a C&P? :)

Thats the attitude I am taking and I love the game despite being close to the end now. Every assassination is played out differently for me and I use EVERY move in combat situations rather than constant counter attacking, which is boring.

I can see myself going back for all the flags + unfinished achievements too.

I've aaaaaaaaalmost got all of the achievements bar the flag ones. The hardest so far was getting into a fight with 25 guards. Once you agro a certain number some start to give up and walk off so it took a while to round them all up. Got the 10 minute fight achievement doing that too!
