Mcdonalds Everyday?

I'm not - it IS utter trash and I've not had a McDonalds or Burger King in about 3 years. However to suggest that the human body is only capable of dealing with a slight increase in saturated fats and salt once per month sounds like killjoy nutritionalist propaganda. I can't see once or twice a week being a problem if you're reasonably active. Four times a week sounds too much though.

You must get sick of it, having it 4 times a week?

I do enjoy a McDonalds/BK/KFC occasionlly but I wouldn't want it more than once every couple of weeks. Wouldn't you rather have a sandwich, salad, even a decent pie sometimes?

Even if you're not fat, it's still possible/likely that you will develop high cholesterol from all the saturated fat you ingest. It's really not a good idea.

3-4 times a week is pretty bad if you listen to all the people who say eatting junk food is bad for you, but then I personaly think if your doing something which requires a lot of energy then you will burn it off easily as if your job is something demanding like a builder or of the sorts your doing to be burning more than a normal person who is sat in a office.

I dont remember the last time I had a Mc Chuff's or a Burger Bings its been atleast 2-3 years for me I think.

I would 'nt want to eat a Big Mac 3-4 times a week though as there not the healthiest of foods to eat even if you will burn it off, just get something eles instead if it concerns you.

You would get far better energy release from a packed lunch then from McDonalds, plus I find I'm hungry soon after, so synthetic.

Problem is finding a decent place to eat quickly in a town you don't know, unfortunatly, McD's stands out a mile.

They (a reaserch group) replicated the "Supersize Me" diet and found there was a neglibible gain in weight and no health risks.

Which means, either, Supersize Me was faked or overdramatised (the writer was a vegan), the new research was corrupt (was peer reviewed so unlikely and v. risky) or it is dependant upon the body type/genes.

Yep I totaly agree its not good for you but what I was getting at is if he doing something which uses a lot of energy then it will kind of cancel the effects of eatting it.

There are far better things you can eat which can be made quickly and in the time it would take you to drive to a fast food place order/pay for it and then drive back to where you need to be.

Up untill a couple of months ago I ate at McDonalds pretty much Monday to Friday every single week and had done so consistently for the last 14 years.

My weight is perfect and I can still run and play footie etc.

I gave up simply because I realised I've done pretty damn well to get away with eating such crap without it affecting my health, so I took the "quit whilst your ahead approach".

I also quit smoking 10 a day, which again I've done for 14 to 15 years.

Wouldn't it be lovely to end this uplifting story by me saying how much better I feel and that wow I can now give Linford Christie a run for his money?

Well I won't BS - I feel much the same. In fact quiting smoking I think I might have put a few extra pounds on. I've got the same energy I had before. Despite cutting all this nasty horrible evil terrible body abuse out - I feel very much the same.

I feel richer if that's any help?

I think the total lack of fibre will catch up with the OP first, followed a few years later by the sugar content. As had been said most things in moderation are fine.

I could not stand it four times a week, whenever I eat a burger from McD I get stomach ache soon after and feel hungry very soon after eating, also I find that I have less energy after that meal than after a normal home cooked meal.

But I guess if you burn the extra calories it's not that bad.

I don't personally see the fat/sugar content as "so bad" but the fact that thats all thats in it, there is nothing of substance.

How can you say Subway = McDonalds? Ever had a Turkey Club dripping in fat?

Subway subs have tiny amounts of calories in compared to FatDonalds!

Remember that just like your McDonald's burger comes with large fries and large drink if you're feeling like it's time for comfort food, your Subway comes in 12" form with double cheese and a cookie.

Unless you have an iron will and just have a 6" plain ham salad sandwich of course :D

dont try and come out with somehow that macdonalds (the absolute junk they cram into their food is unbelievable) is good to eat reguarly. its not. as i said, maybe one a month or occasionally throughout the year, but not a regular pattern.

Can't remember the last time I ate at McDonalds but looking at the ingredients I can't really see the "absolute junk" referred to. Obviously there's a truck load of salt [in the big mac] but that doesn't really make it any different to a lot of take away or ready meal type convenience foods.

Couldn't care less about McDonalds or their food but the way people talk about it you'd think they shovel rat poison and feces into a machine and out pop big macs.

I have a Turkey and Ham 6" from Subway every Tuesday, with salad and mayo.

Please explain to me how that is at all similar to a Big-Mac.

subway = crap processed turkey, crap processed ham, rough cheap processed bread, pointless salad, fattening mayo

big mac = crap processed beef x 2, rough cheap processed bread, pointless salad, fattening mayo

spot the difference...

/edit don't forget the ton of e numbers and salt in both.
