The 'it's Christmas Eve and I'm at work' thread

could be worse , a mate got hit by a car the other night (was on a footpath) and is in hospital with 2 broken legs , broken ribs , internal bleeding and a fractured skull.

whoever did it drove off and left him for dead :(

admittedly i worked last xmas eve on the night and it was awful and well worth moaning about

Been up for over 30hours with no sleep and I am at work now till 3am.
There doing nothing and to make it worse my tummy hurts and I have a headache.

Kill me now please :(

I finished on Friday and am off until January 2nd, double time or whatever could not persuade me to go in. Christmas for me is about being lazy and having fun :D

We've resorted to throwing a ball around the call centre. Lots of fun while waiting for a call.

14 people ready, 13 waiting for a call.

It's going to be a looooooooooooooooooooooooong night.

The lines close at 10pm and some poor soul got a call at 9:53 :D :D

Very unprofessional but everyone on the floor just starting cheering and clapping!

On duty tomorrow from 08:00 to 18:00.

Then same again Boxing day, then nightshift 27th and 28th.

Firefighter, just another tour of duty to me to be honest.

You mean 15 people didn't catch you sneaking up to their door, sticking a call card through the letter box and running away as quickly as possible so you coulf get home early to crack open a beer.;)

I did bang on the doors, and rang then bells.

With the snooker table i had i even tried to get the neighbours to sign for it cause the garage was open.

Ho ho ho.

Rang my ISP customer support this evening and was surprized they are open tomorrow for the full 24 hours.

Anyone able to beat this:

Christmas Eve: 17:30 - 02:00
Christmas DAY: 22:00 - 02:00
New Years Eve: 17:30 - 02:00

Part timer, tbh :p

13th December to 10th January -
06:00-18:00 -
On an oil rig and not as much as a sniff of a cork - barely even a chance to phone home.
Also, no extra pay. Like Scuzi, it's just another working day in the oilfield.

All whingers complaining because they had to work Xmas eve, get a grip and spare a thought for those of us who don't have the luxury of having 2 days off to gorge ourselves on food and alcohol. If you're going to feel sorry for yourselves, at least make it something to be genuinely sad about :p

I help run a pub, so i'm there all over the festive season. We got absolutely annhilated last night, and we expect the same on NYE. It's a bloody good laugh, everyone's up for it, all the customers are having a wicked time. I'm lucky enough to have Xmas day and Boxing day off this year :)
