Also my last Dell had no visible backlight bleeding and had consistant image quality across the screen, no noticeable variations.

When I was thinking about getting the HP I summed it up as 'Not all that glitters is gold'.

Whilst I like the look of the HP initially I will get a lot more milage and more joy out of using out of the Dell.

Got mine a couple of days ago. Has the LG panel. Bit of back light bleed at the bottom although it is made worse by the limited veiwing angle so the bottom of the screen appears brighter than the top, mostly when veiwing a black screen.
Also needs a bit of work to set up. either too bright or too dark. Image is nice and sharp, definitely an improvement over the samsung 913n it replaced.

Screen has improved over the couple of days I've had it and no dead pixels so I'm gonna keep it

I've been using mine for a month now and I'm still astounded by the quality of it. I've no problems at all with viewing angles or bleed and will be purchasing a 2nd one shortly.

I looked at this screen today and decided to go for the Samsung because with the shiny glossy finish to the screen there were a lot of reflections

Did you see it powered up and showing a picture? There aren't any reflections. It's a brilliant screen for the money. I got mine about 3 weeks back for £200 and for the money it's brilliant.

Yes I did, sat right next to the Samsung, I thought that there were too many reflections, my monitor is in a very bright room and when I had my crt that used to get loads of reflections, I got the Sammy for 3 with a 3yr warranty for the same money and i didnt have to buy a dvi-hdmi adaptor.

I not saying 1 is better than the other but if you are in a bright room them it is something to consider.

I also have 2 of these bad boys (Well the w2207 with the DVI instead of HDMI).. A very nice monitor with a very flexible stand.

My brothers really liked the HP W2207H after seeing it when tagging along on my trip down local shops other day, so i got begged for return visit early yesterday, and they now have one each. One's going back though (LG panel, Revision - GMA002), since it’s got awful back light bleed with **** black levels imo, other ones ok. Hardly anywhere had any stock left with many hinting to us 'end of line' with no replen stock expected come Jan, was most likely just BS to push for the sale though.

As for me; placed an order for a certain quality Dell 24" which should arrive by Thurs so my trusty Dell 19” LCD and back up Sony G520 are soon to be fleebay fodder.

However I do like the HP2207H after tinkering with Bro’s decent one, and that gloss screen is not a problem at all, no worse than CRT screens in terms of reflections.

Hi, both LG panel version. After loads of tinkering with them both (+ Nvidia control panel), managed to get much better picture and improved black levels, only for all that work to be ruined by poor backlight bleed on all four sides. :rolleyes:

Both going back, the samsung STM panel verion should be better on back light bleed or so i hear, not that anywhere has that revision left so bro's getting refunds.

LM220M1 = Samsung

Look for Revision number on side of box:

STM001: Samsung
GMA001 or GMA002: LG
MTI001 or ITM001 (i think): Innolux

I tried about 20 places and none had the STM version left; which was manufatured between August and November. All that was ever left was the latest revision in LG panel version and its still **** going by the two we picked up + the one i saw in certain highstreet store (after closer inspection).

I will add to the chorus of approval. Wanted a 22" widescreen and didn't want to deal with the hassle of "working from home" tomorrow (or worse Monday - delay) so popped down a local store and there it was - bought. Just plug the supplied HDMI cable in and away you go (my gfx card came with an HDMI converter for some reason - bonus

).

The unit itself looks really high quality and the image is brilliant.

I have just bought one. Got the Rev. ITM001 which is LM220EW01-V2 = Innolux.

Seems to suffer from a degree of backlight bleed at the bottom which is a bit disappointing. On the plus side there were no dead pixels and it is height adjustable which is a nice feature. Can't be bothered taking it back so i think i will stick with it and see if I can sort it out with calibration.

Looking to get a 22" this one has just popped into the picture along with the Pebble and it seems to have a few good calls so far, excluding the panel maker difference of course.

Big question then, better than a pebble or not ?
