January Transfer Window

Spurs supposedly lining up Hutton for £8m: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/7170640.stm

Looked very good what little I saw of him this season. Chimbonda hasn't been playing all that great over the last year and gives the impression that he cares more about himself than the club.

If true then I guess Spurs might look to recoup some cash from somewhere...
I've been reading about this but can't see it tbh. I would have thought he'd want to join one of the "Top 4" *yawn*

Would love to see him come to WHL though, Chimhonda has been getting on my nerves this season and to blame for several goals we've conceded. Hutton to Spurs for £6m and sell Chimbo to Chelsea for £10m would be lovely :)

Absolute mugs if they pay anywhere near £8m for Hutton. Firstly Spurs need players that can defend - his major failing as a uh... defender. He dives all over the shop and most of his attempted tackles are fouls which he gets away with up here because he plays for Rangers but would amount to a few red cards a season at Spurs.

I would have liked us to buy a top quality RB in the summer and I'd still be happy for us to get one even though we've done ok so far.

Although Fergie is well known for ditching players at the drop of a hat, he also has a habit of waiting too long before making serious attempts to replace certain players.

Dude you seem to have a real bee in your bonnet about Berb's...?

I dont understand the whirlwind of hype that has suddenly blown up around him these two seasons, thats all.

He just hasnt done anything to warrant it, he scored the same amount of league goals as Dirk Kyut last season and he gets slated.

He provides no more than any other average forward in the Premiership and yet is described as a "revelation"

Would people consider paying £25 million for Kevin Doyle? You should be doing, he scored more league goals than Berbatov last season.

I thought he was LB? Or does he just play that position for Germany?

Lahm is a better left back than anything else.

I think he's played as a centre back a few times, and on the right as well. But I'm pretty sure he's a better left back than any other position.

Laughing at you.

You know better than Fergie etc? :D

Nice post count btw. ;)

Probably agree with him on Hutton's indiscipline tbh.

The general standard of refereeing in Scotland is shambolic. Inconsistent decisions/punishments, Old Firm bias, etc.

Being a Gers fan i sometimes have to pinch myself when i read stories of 8m offers for Hutton.

He has played several good games this season yes, but he was a terrible player and whilst i know players can and do get better he was often a liability than he was a good player.

I have seen many great players at Ibrox such as Cooper, Gascoigne, laudrup, De Boers and simply put Hutton would be replaced.

30million for Berbetov is a joke.

Ranger bias, not Old Firm, thanks.

Yeah I think the likes of Ferguson commented on some half-decent performances in a Scotland shirt (think it was after the Italy game where he had a hand in both goals conceded funnily enough) but he was also keen to point out he had a lot to learn and needed to improve on. A realistic assessment of his abilities.

Apart from the fact he was named in the Premiership Team of the Year and Kuyt didnt come anywhere near getting a look in.
