pffft, Life is full of what if's. What if while you had your game paused, I played on Lave and got 57th highest score in the world and recorded it for posterity in avi format? Now that would be a what if.....

OK,

But if you have a ps3, it will look better (imo) if you go to here: http://www.rp2000.net/ocuk/ocuk.htm and just save it directly to the ps3 and it will view it natively. (It will work on a PC as well as long as you have Quicktime (mp4) codecs or equivalent installed).

It is 9:06 long and 26MB in size. My Phone only does 320*240 movies. I think I have a camera around somewhere that does higher res, but I am unlikely to repeat this score in a hurry tbh, let alone have a camera setup at the same time.!

p.s. jack up the volume, if you want to hear the music that is the inspiration to my high score craziness.

Good work!
Could do better though, I've done phase 1 in 47 secs before, then went on to finish Phase 2 with over 2mil. I was supremely annoyed when I died soon after

If you could add my first 2 phases to your last ones, it'd be a world-beater for sure!

Nice shooting rp!
You dodged all those small asteroids and the boss' pink bullets really well :eek:

On top of that, you only used the rock crusher. I tend to whip out the gold melter whenever those red guys and snakes show up, and for the boss. Does boosting through the bosses do damage btw?

I use the gold melter weapon on the small red guys, sometimes, but on those snakes you should use green as they are green snakes and aim for the head. I think the boss can be beat a few secs quicker with the gold melter, but if you had charged that up to a decent rate, thw earlier phases would have taken longer with a weaker Rock Crusher, so it would have balanced out.

Boosting through the boss does no damage, but looks damn stylish

p.s. It's all about the music. In most games like this I turn off music and replace with custom music etc. Since I put my Heroes track on custom soundtrack the high scores have been flowing. Life is about Heroes, reallly....

I listen to some Japanese rock music. It has voices but I don't understand them so I don't get distracted

Btw it seemed like you just had the one track repeating? Seemed way too peaceful for something as crazy as stardust

Edit:

Impressive scores for a couple of weeks playing tbh. That is the closest anyone has got for about 6 months!!!

Well actually I've only had the game for... 5 days

When you have Heroes, you only need one track. Whilst there is hectic crazy firing shizzle on screen, my mind is relaxed to the tranquil sound of Heroes. Its all you need.

Such a New Guy, so much to learn, and such little time.

I am just rubbish at this game, tried again last night and didnt even hit a million. I was despondant enough by seeing that RP had doubled my best lumines score.

smashed my score again this morning

I'm starting to get quite good at this now, I usually get over 20 million now.. I find the 4 level problematic though and after you lose your first life you lose that sweet x7 multipler

I just zoom through it which takes out one or two of its weak points straightaway then finish it off with the gold melter, then just shoote asteroids with the rock crusher until it becomes vulnerable again (switching to zoom / gold melter when the ufos appear). Rinse & repeat

Not sure how efficient it is but it might be useful for people to post their times and strategy to figure out which is best

Thanks for the tip - I did exactly what you said and I ended up not dieing once; getting a score of 19 mil+, which puts me top80 in the world :eek:

Hats off to the FORMER New Guy

He now has 19,707,620 million for Segomo (which puts him higher than me and phluff)

AND

He now has 164,554,415 in Arcade mode, which puts him above me and phluff, also.

HE IS NO LONGER THE NEW GUY, just SebC (or some chaosangel29th crap

)

I have no doubt in my mind it is going to take me some time to beat those scores as you haven't just marginally beaten me, but thrashed me silly!

What a game! It's been my saviour for the past week that I've had it - Whenever I got bored of studying for my upcoming resits I could just turn the PS3 on, click the game and get right in, even just for 10 minutes on one planet

But then for some reason I got hooked on trying to beat rp2000!

I think I've easily played at least 12 hours by now, so I'm gonna write some tips methinks

PS: 'SebC' doesn't cut it

I need to change my name.... somehow
